Just had the Alligator Po-boy? would give it 6 stars if I could. Beautifully fried, succulent and TASTY! Got Red beans and rice... side, but wish I?d ordered the slaw since it?s 95* out, but since it?s so delicious I?m not regretting anything! Read more
First time coming here today and I don't get what all the bad reviews are about. Portland has some incredibly bland food and... even more so with BBQ, but this place is genuinely good. It has a home-cooked taste and doesn't leave you feeling sluggish eventhough it's fried. Maw Maw is great and even the cooks are too. Ignore the snarky reviewers and definitely give this place ashot. This was our first time coming here. Ordered the catfish platter and it was very flavorful, hot, and crispy. The potato salad... was the best I've ever had and the mustard greens tasted rich. The owner was nice and funny. You can tell a lot of care andpassion goes into their business. Highly recommend! Read more
