The place is nice, very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. We love the restaurant - food was delicious. However the cabin was... not too clean (lots of bugs in between window frames, little web on the corners etc) Fortunately on the last day of the stay wesaw a small mouse in the cabin. We've been coming here since the 1970s (before they had TVs in the cabins. We brought our old b&w portable one year to watch the... Falcon Crest season premiere episode one year) and it has remained WONDERFUL each time. It's one of the few places on the planetwhere we can relax. The staff ALWAYS has been great. The lodge at White Pines State Park is awesome, great venue for a variety of events. The log construction was completed in the... 30's, when they knew how to build things right. Lovely cabins in the woods of beautiful, old white pines. My mate thought them rustic. I had to laugh. There is a comfortable... bed, a shower and sink, a mini-fridge, and a TV with cable. It's very clean. Don't depend on good internet connection for theTV. It stopped and refreshed a lot, but who needs TV with the woods. Very friendly staff who make reservations. I had to canceland make another date. They accommodated me. Lovely gift shop. The truffles are to die for. The restaurant at White Pines Lodgewas disappointing. My mate had dined there before and said it was great. Sadly he changed his opinion. His pork dish looked lessthan appetizing, and it was. I had chicken pot pie. Great crust and buttery sauce but very little chicken. All the chickendishes were not available. It could be the meal was not great because they were so busy as I was told. We went during OregonDays. I would give them a second chance. All in all, I enjoyed the experience. I could go cheaper and what I consider rustic,but it sure beats a motel or hotel room.
