Reviews for O'Connors Wood Fire Grill and Bar & Catering Services in Orangevale, CA
Great Barbecue pulled pork sandwich. Plenty of choices. Excellent service and the food was so much I had to take some home, and... it was still amazing 3 days later. Definitely returning in the near future. Read more
The food was good. A good balance of flavors. The pasta was cooked well. I would get both items again. I wish the grilled Cajun... chicken that came in the Cajun Pasta was the same chicken that came in the Jambalaya. I'm not sure if this drink is the normalsize they typically provide for $3.24 but it was not worth the price. Thankfully I got it without ice, otherwise it would beeven less to drink. There were taller Coke cups on the bar so I was confused as to what the differences were. I ordered onlineand there weren't any size options.IDK if that's their standard size or what. I spent $50 for our meals including a $4.50 tipfor pickup. Read more
The potatoe salad and barbeque beans were very tasty. The service was impeccable. That being said unfortunately our main entrees... were a big disappointment. I had the tri-tip sandwich and my spouse had the brisket. The meat tasted old. They both were toughand dry. Maybe a burger or something else but I'd stay away from these items. Sad since we really wanted a good smoked orbarbeque sandwich. ???? Read more
I'd advise to NOT order from here with delivery or pick up. The food is definitely not suitable for consumption and would never... be put on a plate in person. Also, they give no option for bbq sauce flavor and will only send 1 unflavored type per plate. Read more
Food wasn't bad but also wasn't good We got the Cajun pasta- skimpy sauce that lacked flavor, richness. Indicated it used cream... but there wasn't much creaminess. I asked to substitute the shrimp instead of the chicken. Below was a shrimp dish, scampi stylethat was same exact price as the chicken dish. included about 7 shrimp of decent size and they were cooked well. Waitress didnot indicate an additional charge, which was $2.50. Waitress was nice but didn't check on us besides once. Husband gotjambalaya pasta and it was almost identical sauce wise to the Cajun pasta, just a few different ingredients. Skimpy/almost nonexistent sauce. which was disappointing. Veggie amounts lacking. pasta portion generous though. bowl of the tri tip chili...looked like almost no tri tip in it. bowl was a bit small. lacking flavor. have had better canned chilis. had nice cheese andchives on top though. Part of what was upsetting was all dishes were higher in price vs the menu price. I dont know if theycharge a hidden percent fee which doesn't get mentioned on the bill or shown as a fee. just every dish was slightly higher priceand an uneven number. I did not see anything indicating this. Very sneaky. Up to almost a dollar extra on one entree. If foodprices increase, you need to display or indicate the updated prices. Nothing mentioned on website either. This is a genericdining place, I would skip it. Nothing special. Read more
I tried the Tri-tip and blue sandwich which was delicious! It comes with perfectly smoked/cooked tri-trip with grilled onions... and blue cheese. I tried it with the sweet potato fries. The bbq sauce was tangy, but very good. Our service was very friendly& prompt Our server had a great sense of humor The restaurant is clean and decorated very cute! I would definitely recommendtrying this bbq place! Read more
I am giving it a 2 only because a couple of the things I ate were not that bad. First I received NO utensils, NO napkins (I was... getting this delivered in the back of a parking lot as I am a delivery driver and that is where we wait to retrieve ourorders) So WE definitely needed the silverware and napkins. I even text my DoorDash driver and reminded him to get me utensilsand extra barbecue sauce and of course I only got one little cup a THREE meat plate. The ribs have that animal smell to it and Ijust could not even eat that. My cheesecake came broken and smashed in pieces. It was my first time ordering from here and neveragain will I do that and I?m not even sure I?m going to use DoorDash again either this was just a really bad experience ingeneral. There are a lot of better barbecue places in Sacramento and I suggest that you check those out before coming here. Theyhave a couple near the Roseville area and a couple in the downtown area better 1000 times better than this place and I?m justtalking the taste of the food and the quality. This brisket was very different and you could tell it was very low quality orpoorly smoked or possibly both. So I?m just saying before you spend your money here please look around at other places I am abarbecue connoisseur and I?m telling you right now I will never come back here I don?t care how bad I?m craving barbecue Read more
It can be hard to find great barbecue in California when you compare it to barbecue-centric states like Texas. Well, O'Connors... doesn't even meet that measure.... It exceeds it! I just got back from a business trip in Texas. I thought I would relish thebarbecue I had there and I tell you what, O'Connor's smashed what that Texas shack made and put on a plate and called barbecue!I had the bacon blue burger and it was one of the best I've ever had. The au jus is drinkable. The fries were crisp anddelicious. The tri-tip chili is the best I've ever had. My only complaint is that I haven't come to O'Connor's sooner. Theironly complaint will be their inability to get me out of this place! Thank you. We will be back. Read more
