The Lunch Box Deli catered a surprise 50th anniversary party for my parents. The food was amazing! Everyone was commenting on... the chicken salad, cheese spread, dips and cake. I read a few reviews before I ordered food from here and one was from Livy who gave it a 1 star and said she was sobbing because... of how bad the food was. I didn't believe her, but after visiting and eating the food myself, I, too, was almostsobbing. Cons: 1. the Carolina bbq sandwich was squeezed into a container much too small for it. When i pried it out, it ploppedall over my chest, lap and desk. There was very little meat, mostly bbq sauce which i discovered i didn't like. The cole slawwas just shreds of cabbage and was tasteless. 2 the macaroni salad had dill or fennel in it which I don't care for. It also hadchunks of I don't know what. Just not for me. 3. The brownie bottom cheesecake was rubbery and di not taste like cheesecake. Thebrownie was dry and as hard as a rock. The picture is my slice of cheesecake. This is NOT the consistency of cheesecake. I amnot sure what this is. And the fake whipped cream was the consistency of rubber. For this price I expect real whipped cream anda lovely slice of cheesecake. 4. The fountain drink that i got had a lid that did not fit and would not stay on. I lost most ofit on my car floor. 5. This trip cost me over $20, for heartache and an unsatisfied stomach. 6. I couldn?t be happier! I called in a panic when the original bakery cancelled and shut the store down on Thursday when I was... supposed to pick it up on Friday. She created this cake in less than 48 hours and I am above the moon. She was apologizingthat she couldn?t do more! Are you serious she saved me and made my granddaughter so happy. This food disgusted me so much I started sobbing. I was starving and my employer provided the food. I know people say support... small business but this was gut-wrenching. The sandwiches you get are the same thing you can make at home. Nothing special. AtPublix, less than 5 minutes away, you can get three times as much for the same price. Read more
This restaurant is a little unknown secret that I came across and she makes food from scratch and her own recipes which are... absolutely delicious. I personally don't like tiramisu, because it's too strong like cheesecake. Her tiramisu is amazing due toher making it without the cheeses. Chicken salad is also delicious very moist. I mean don?t be get me wrong, the food is ok. But beware, because what really put me off is that the owner increases the prices... from the advertised price from the menus right in front of the register seemingly on a whim. When confronted she says ?yeah Ineed to change the menus, do you not want it now?? No, I ordered it and you made it, but when I went I was picking up food forsome coworkers. So I had to go back to the office and explain that the owner didn?t sell it to me for the price in the menu. Itold them that the menu in the restaurant also said the same price we had in our Togo menu we ordered from, but all she offeredto do was take the food back. I think I should have not taken the food on principle alone, but the food wasn?t for me. It justput a real sour taste in my mouth, especially when I was telling the story in the office and someone said a while ago they hadthe same experience. I don?t know if our office will be back. I love the gourmet chicken salad croissant! I do love the daily specials, too! And then I have to get a dessert after walking in... and seeing them. Yum! I've catered from her before and have always had wonderful food and service! She has also made me acheesecake for a family outing and everyone loved it! Read more
