The food is great in the early mornings around 11am. The sweet tea is awesome ????, the best time is 11:30 am very fresh and... sweet. The grill cook is the best. The owner is well know and makes it his choice to keep his employees happy. I also, learnedthat there?s a night shift manager is very encouraging to the youth. Place is very dirty, tables were all dirty. 2 pm was happy hour, we did Not get the discount. Staff when approached for forks... and a knife were not polite. In over an hour and nobody cleaned tables the entire time. Now that we serve ourselves they donothing. Kids at the next table throwing food and jumping on seats, making our table bounce all over. We ordered through Uber eats , 1 Garlic double stack, and 2 double cheese burgers. When they arrived with our food we were short... 1 double cheese, so immediately we tried calling uber eats and contact their web site and received a message that the servicewas not available and the same with the web site. So we called Steak and Shake , Wells Rd Orange Park Fl and that rude personsaid that they could not verify that the ordered came from them and to contact the Uber driver... Like how the hell do wecontact the driver??? Uber doesn't even pick up their phone much less allow you into their website. Steak and shake claims theydon't have the ability to verify their orders , which im guessing have never heard of camera's over their operations ? Also thenext Steak and Shake is 15 miles away vers 1 mile away from here. With time given for placing order and receiving our orderthere is no way our order came from the other side of town. Our order no was 920290 on 7/31/2022 at 11:11 pm. As far as I'mconcerned I will no longer visit a Steak and Shake or depend on a service for food delivery by which additonal fees and tips areadded onto and order. I was so excited to take my children here to steak and shake a place that I've gone many times since living and Orange... Park. When my family and I walked in there was no one around ...no waitresses... no one to greet you... nothing but the cooksin the back and kiosks where you order your food. It felt so distant and nothing like a diner at all. I miss the old steak andshake. Read more

Have to agree with many of the other recent reviews. The changes to Steak 'n Shake have made it so it is no longer 'special'.... It's just another fast-food burger joint. If you go inside to order (I didn't try the drive-thru), you can't order a-la-cart,everything is a meal-deal, and it seems very lonely and barren inside. The menu has been trimmed down also. I used to reallyenjoy Steak 'n Shake, but my recent visit will probably be my last. There's just nothing to draw me there anymore. The burgersare still good, the milkshakes are still good, it just isn't good enough to pull me in. Read more
