Went to the Silk Mill for a birthday lunch and was very pleasantly surprised. Very roomy, rustic and relaxing environment. Staff... was friendly and attentive during our lunch. The food was very good - my wife didn't care for the fries and I partially agreewith her but I'm happy with adding more salt and Ketchup. The kids nuggets were meh. I really hate that the kids meals are oftenmuch lower quality than other menu items but I get it. Our server was great and she kept our sweet tea glasses filled! Lots ofchoices on the menu that I look forward to trying. Certainly recommend! Read more

Waited over 15 mins before waitress came, once we was seated. Waitress never came back to get us refills on our tea and my... husband had to go find her to get boxes for left overs and the bill. Establishment was not overly busy and there was asufficient amount of waitresses working, so not sure why this happened. Food was EXCELLENT so we will definitely be back! Read more

This is a great place to eat! Lactose intolerant people be aware the salad has cheese on it (not in description) and baked... potato comes with a dollop of sour cream (I did order it without). I had a brand new waitress that was super friendly and gotthe rest of our order correct. My husband had the Tuscan chicken which he'd describe as super creamy cheesy goodness. I orderedthe salmon with Jack Daniels glaze and highly recommend it! My fish was perfectly cooked and the glaze was crispy! I loved it!!The restaurant used to be an old silk mill and the story is on the menu. There were many cool pictures and old silk mill toolson the walls too. Read more

We were shocked to see a 4.3 on this wonderful place! Friendly staff, delicious homemade food - all of it! I had the most... fresh, perfectly prepared scallops with delicious real mashed potatoes and also super fresh salad. Husband had a huge portionof meatloaf and fries with homemade gravy! Lovely old mill atmosphere! We rode down from Martinsburg, WV and it was wellworth the trip! Then I read people giving 1star because they had to wait a minute or their favorite wasn't available at thetime they wanted it. Come on, now!! This place needs 5 stars!! Read more

Great place to eat, the atmosphere was cozy. We started with drinks which were the Long island ice tea and the UV. The Bartender... gives you your money worth! Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of our entrees because we were in the moment but the Ribeye andAlfred penne with steak was on point! Very delicious, excellent service! Mike ( I believe his name, i apologize if its wrong)Warned me of inclement weather coming in and helped me to cover our Slingshot before it rained. Can't say enough good thingsabout this place. Thank you for the great experience Read more

Home style, hardy, and served with a smile! The salads were fresh, my beef tips were surprisingly tangy, and my husband's crab... cakes were really good. Priced fairly, a bit understaffed (due to Covid), cutlery and plates were more cafeteria then I wouldlike, but quality and portions made up for it. I will absolutely be back! Read more

This was our first time in this area of Virginia. It was the first time we ate at this restaurant. We thought the atmosphere was... very cool. It?s an old silk Mill that was turned into a restaurant. The floors were very old and worn and we could just imaginethe experiences that those floors could tell if they could talk. The walls are decorated with old bobbins and silk windingmaterial they probably dated back 50 or 100 years. Our dinners were very good and we found them a great value for the money. Itcertainly was not expensive. Our waitress was very pleasant. If we ever get back to that area we will definitely stop in again. Read more

I used to visit Gramma in South Boston, VA and we would dine in small restaurants like this one. I expected mediocre steakhouse... food but dutifully ordered grilled options, the house specialty. We were happily surprised. My son declared the Silk MillGrille Burger as one of the best he's ever eaten. The fries were also very good. My Southwest Chicken Salad was flavorful anddelicious thanks to the dressing. I considered leaving four stars because I had been looking for a vegetarian option, but at $15the grilled veggie "griller" on rice was overpriced, so my principles wouldn't allow me to order it. Nevertheless, I willdefinitely return to have a burger or beef tips in the future. Read more
