Dined in late probably around 8pm, the service was great the workers who take your order are very friendly. Ordered 2pc dark... fried chicken with fried pickles. Chicken was crunchy but there wasnt much flavor or seasoning I could taste. The fried picklesthey seasoned just one side, and put a little too much cajun seasoning on them. Horrible !! Poor customer service. They wanted me to drive up and wait? I dont play that game. So I told them give me my money... back. All of sudden food was ?ready?. It was horrible ! Not fried to completion. You can see the onion rings literally had NObreading. Im glad I was just passing through and not local. This is a nasty establishment. I would have drove all the way backand got my money back for everything? but I will let my bank deal with it. Dont let the photo advertising fool you, this placeis ghetto hot mess! Read more
Don't know what happened to the one on hwy 190 westbound. It used to be really good years ago. They seem to now focus on serving... crunchy half cooked chicken at swordfish prices. I do not recommend this one AT ALL! Read more
The fish was fried way to soft for my liking but was still good... the shrimp were awesome....but the funnel cake for 1.99 was... awesome. If you don't call ahead be prepared to wait oh and the onion rings were real string fried onions ... I will be goingback when I visit the boot again Read more
Let me start by saying my fried okra was really good and I would imagine that the chicken sold there is even better but my... potato salad was bland and my coleslaw had raisins. I traveled to Louisiana this weekend to visit friends and family. While visiting with my cousin, she said let's stop by Mama's.... It was my first time visiting this establishment. I ordered the shrimp plate with dirty rice. I was not disappointed with what Ichose. I told my husband if he was with me, "I would have had to slap him...I'm not a slap my moma kind of lady"..lol! I travel across Louisiana a lot. This restaurant is one reason to take hwy 190 instead of i10. For 10 yrs this has been my fav... stop within the region. Flavors have always been consistent along with quality service. Many great options including shrimp andburgers. Seasoning on fries is legit at times kind of lacking which disappoints. Parking is tight, but manageable. Dual drivethru was perfect upgrade. Speed of service is fine even with jampacked line of cars. Area is safe imho. Roads surrounding areterrible though. After seeing the sign for Mama's countless times on our way to and from Lafayette, we finally stopped to give it a try and we... were not disappointed! The fried pickles were definitely the star of the show - perfectly battered and deliciously crispy. Thefried chicken was good, but pretty standard for the area.
