My mom and I came from Chincoteague for my birthday dinner, and Maurice's was worth the drive! We ordered a few drinks and apps... to split. First, my mom ordered the Assateague IPA, and she said it was very good. Our server recommended the mule for me, andit was refreshing. The mix of Cucumber was so crisp and exactly what I needed for a hot August day. It was probably the bestmule I have ever tried, and so I ordered a second. Next, we had the fresh shrimp and scallop ceviche. This dip was addictive! Ihave lived in Panama and Costa Rica in the past, and this ceviche would give any a run for their money. With this we ordered theVirginia ham egg rolls. The wonton was light and crispy and the poached pear was delightful addition. We finished the nighttrying two different sushi rolls. I was not expecting good sushi from an American restaurant, set in country corn fields, but Iam glad that I gave it a try. We ordered the Spider roll with fresh soft shell blue crab. My mom said it was the best sushiroll.she has ever had. The tempura seasoning was light and provided the right amount of crunch for the soft rice. The secondroll was the Seaside roll, which a mix of scallops and tuna. This was also.very well made. Our server was professional andknowledgeable in every item on the menu. He also informed us that the tomatoes and herbs were grown on site. His recommendationsfor drinks and dishes were spot on. The interior and exterior design and decor of the restaurant was simple yet classy. I amglad that I mad reservations as I am not sire if we would have been able to be seated had I not. Reservations were effortlessand done through Google assistant, about 90 minutes before arriving. This place was phenomenal and one of the best dinners Ihave had on the Virginia Eastern Shore. I wish I had taken better photos. It was the perfect place to celebrate a quiet birthdaydinner. I only wish that I had brought more of an appetite, because the creme brulee cheese cake th Read more

Wife and I joined two dear friends for dinner here. The place is intimate and very enjoyable. The wife and I had the Bacon... Wrapped Scallops as an app. Our friends had the Mussels and Pancetta. Both were pleasing visually as well as in taste. Ourentrees were Eastern Shore Paella, Miso Chilean Sea Bass and the Grilled Steak of the Day. The steak was cooked perfectly andplaced on a bed of asparagus. The Sea Bass was served in a buttered potato cream puree with and an infused oil & baby bokchoy. The Paella included clams, jumbo shrimp, lobster claw, andouille sausage, mussels and fish. It included creamy saffronrisotto, and a garlic, wine, tomato and saffron broth. It was very delicious. Not a drop was left on out plates. For dessert weshared two slices of fantastic creations. Maurice's is a wonderful upscale dining spot on the shore. Rare and very enjoyable Read more

Our favorite place to eat on the Eastern Shore. The food is wonderful. The oyster stew is one of my all-time favorite dishes! ... I actually daydream about it. One thing to know. There are also four lovely rooms connected to the restaurant you can stay infor around $80. We've done it on two trips. Sean, the owner, is a great host!! AND, the oyster stew is only a few stepsaway!!!!!!! Read more

This place did not disappoint. A little ways out of the way but well worth it if your looking for excellent food and service. ... Pricey, but we're talking everything done right. Our starter was the bacon wrapped scallop on top a carrot puree with asmokiness infused, just amazing. The chefs special of stuffed lobster loaded with crab meat and a real key-lime pie fordessert. My husband had the Virginia crab cake that is huge full of nothing but crab and spiced goodness. Followed with ahazelnut, pistachio something, something layered cake that was amazing too. I did dive into my lobster before taking a photo, Itlooked really good. There is this creamy golden topping...it's just really good. I highly recommend finding this place if highquality is what your in the mood for. Read more
