Perfect little hometown diner. Cutest inside, decorated for the season. Food was amazing and the amount of food you get for... the price was on point. If you are in a rush, this is not the place to go. Once seated it does take a minute to get served andthe food took a little while. But overall, Great place to sit and relax. Update: I have seen and heard the reviews that are less than stellar but have never had any major issue until today. We ordered... a patty melt minus onions and texas toast substituted for rye. (Yes, I realize she ordered a glorified cheeseburger lol). Ittook quite some time to receive our food and then everything went downhill from there. The bill for hers was the cost of thepatty melt PLUS 2 side orders charged. We expected to be charged for the fries but when I questioned the additional "side order"fee, I was told it was for the texas toast substitution...using that logic, I should have gotten a discount as we did not usetheir onions! (Sarcasm) I ordered a small chicken fried steak with salad and baked potato. My potato was so cold the cheesedidn't even pretend to melt so back it went to the kitchen. Finally get my potato returned as I am mostly finished with my CFS.When I looked at the ticket, I also was charged a side order fee. I questioned why and I reminded her that my entree came with 2sides and was told "that is just how she does it". Not sure who "she" is....if it is Ms Jerry or not. I am so disappointed as wehave had minor issues but nothing like today and we always take friends and family there when they come to the lake. Food was delicious. I had stuffed shrimp and boudin balls. Wife had fried shrimp and crawfish. The entire wait staff was very... friendly. They even gave my grandson some candy and a piece of strawberry cake. We are gonna return. Mmmmm mmmmm Read more
Simple, rustic, homestyle, small restaurant with plenty to choose from. Inside looks a little dated. Tables available with... plenty of seating. Menu consists of: burgers, chicken fried steak, salads, pork chops, seafood, sandwiches, desserts, etc. Wepaid about $30 for 2 people (burger, chicken fried steak and drinks). Specials were fairly priced, but listed different offersdepending on the board you looked at (i.e. one said with dessert and the other was without, but both listed the sameprice). Quality of food was okay. Their fried green tomatoes were my favorite part of the meal. Could use some more seasoning.Portions were a little smaller than expected. Staff was very welcoming and easy to talk to. Attentive and helpful. Ordering andcheck out was easy. Overall, would return. It was a calm place for lunch and the staff was good. Read more
Recently ate here several times while staying at a nearby RV park. Excellent food and service. Home town diner. Real mashed... potatoes and gravy. Plan to go back this coming week and enjoy some more of it. Pies are very good. Read more
