The staff is always nice! If you need a drink or game recommendation, they know their stuff. There are a wide variety of games... available to borrow with the day pass ($7/person) and there is a good variety of games to purchase, including recent releasesof cards games and board games, as well as the classics. The noise level can get a bit high, but it's a fun atmosphere. Myfavorite orders are the caramel kerplunk (frozen caramel frappe), apples2apples (hot caramel apple cider), pineapple cider (hardcider), and the chicken fingers. Warning: if you are playing a game that requires dice: avoid the table with the snake eyesplacard near the Cafe bar! The curse is real. Read more

I was traveling across country quickly on I80 and wish I had more time to make stops at game stores / cafes that I've heard... about along the way, but I'm glad that this was the one I took the time for. I am not familiar with Omaha or where Spielboundlies within the city, but it seemed to be nestled on a somewhat quiet street in a sort of business-district, fantastic forafter-school / after-work gamers to enjoy quiet drinks and games. The exterior of the building has been curated to appear as afairy-tale-esque bookshop, with a quaint logo and inviting appearance. Once inside you're greeted by a small selection of gamesto buy including some new releases and other harder-to-find rarities that you wouldn't find in the "new" rotation at anotherboard game retailer. The size of the buy shelves aren't much to write home about, but that's not what this place is about. Moreimportantly, the main room has a stocked cafe and a friendly staff that greets you, makes you feel welcome, and is more thanhappy to chat and make recommendations. Cafe tables are sized to be equipped for board games, which is honestly something a lotof other game cafes don't account for. Then you walk into the game library and are met with a vibrant, colorful collection ofover 3,000 board games from old classics to releases that literally dropped earlier that week. The collection is impressive, tosay the least and is one of the largest playable collections I've seen?and that's saying something since I work in the industryand travel the country visiting local game stores and conventions. All in all, whether you're stopping by in Omaha for a breakon the long road or you're a local looking to try something new: Spielbound Game Cafe should be the answer. Read more

We were in a new city and were looking for a hidden gem. We were so excited to find Spielbound! It was heavenly for board game... geeks like us! You can bring your own game or play theirs while we can order food or drinks. There is a small admission fee perperson but the price was reasonable. They kindly categorize their games to check out and the front of the house had a littleshop to buy some latest games. There was another section of the store that people brought D&D type of games as well. Omaha islucky to have this place! Read more

A space for playing board games (they have thousands to choose from) in the company of people who love board games. They also... offer coffee, craft beer, wine, and some snacks. I believe it is $5 per person per day to stay and play. They have monthly andyearly memberships if you're going to be a regular. Come on a weekday morning to avoid any crowds. It's horribly out of the wayfor us, but still a fun outing on occasion. Their website needs an update as they still list 2016 events as "upcoming." Though, they seem to have TWO websites - a .com and a .org. So... yea... Stick to the .com if you want to reserve a room. Also, the .comseems to be more up-to-date than the .org. Read more

Good atmosphere, good drinks. Irish coffee and grown-up hot chocolate are my personal favorites. Games are are fun too and... so many to choose from too, but you will need a days pass to play games. That's $5 each for everyone in your party. Read more

Excellent little spot to hang out with friends! I love that you can try new games out and sit for hours learning them and... enjoying the company of your friends. Extra care was obviously taken to organize the contents of each board game with labels forthe components and special plastic sleeves for the cards to keep them lasting longer. I?d never been to a board game cafe beforeand would definitely recommend this one! Read more
