I have visited this location a few times and there is ALWAYS and long wait. However, just to be fair, I decided to give them... another try, but this is what I encountered on my last visit. It was a Sunday morning, little to no traffic and I pulled upbehind a white, 2dr, BMW. She appeared to be pretty comfortable sitting there because her left foot was on the dashboard of hervehicle while she chatted with the barista. Out of curiosity, I started the timer on my phone just to see how long it would taketo get through the line. 8 minutes had elapsed and the car I front of me was still there and both ladies just chatting andlaughing...clearly I was not. Periodically, I would see the barista's head pop out of the window as she said something. As Igrew more impatient I noticed 3 cars on the otherside went through rather quickly. This was a clear indication that my little 5to 7 dollar drink was not important, so I backed out and left, this was about 3 weeks ago. Before leaving I thought abouthonking my horn, or stepping out of my vehicle to talk to the barista's, but at this point I'm sure they realize a friendly chathas gone overboard, but no one really seemed to care, right? They are not the owners. I've learned over the years never complainto the workers because change will never happen...go to the owners because they have more at stake. I don't understand why youwouldn't send someone outside and get the next person's order to speed up the process or do something to speed up the process. After my last encounter I have vowed to spend my money elsewhere, and I have informed my daughter to do the same. It should nottake 10 minutes to get a drink of any kind. Systems and processes should be in place to minimize or alleviate long waits andlines. Read more
I have been a customer of this business for many many years. I have consistently been treated with kindness, generosity, and an... authentic interest in my approval of their product. The employees who have been there for an extended period of time actuallyknow what product I will order without me telling them. They recognize me by my car and my face, and they were alsoaccommodating to my communication challenges due to a hearing impairment, so they were always kind and hospitable in loweringtheir mask so that I was able to communicate, preserving my basic human dignity. Employees who have not been there long enoughto already be familiar with me, not that it is an expectation as it is not, are also consistently and authentically kind,interested, and preserving of basic human dignity. It is now and always has been an utmost delight doing business with AvenueEspresso and I am greatly relieved that they survived the last two years in which so many businesses were closed permanently. This place is by far my favorite coffee stand. I'm fortunate to work close to a stand with the best coffee around. It's so good... that sometimes I go out of my way on the weekends. There coffee has set the standard of what good coffee tastes like and now ifI go anywhere else I'm usually a little disappointed because deep down I'm hoping it's going to taste like Avenue's coffee....but don't take my word for it- go try it yourself!
