Dinner at Hot Tuna was a date night to remember, A customer of mine had recommended hot tuna to me a couple of weeks ago and he... wrote down some of his favorite things on the menu for me on a sticky note. I was interested but not motivated enough until hestarted showing me photos of the dishes he had just eaten earlier that day. If I had been asked to guess I would have said theylooked too expensive for me a college student to afford to take his girlfriend out for. Good thing I was wrong! My girlfriendand I have now been here a couple of times, for lunch and for dinner. At the time of this review, they are still doing a specialmost days from 5-7pm on a reduced menu they have cheaper sushi rolls and sashimi. My girlfriend is big into sushi and is verypicky, through her I have learned to have high expectations for sushi as well. That being said, this place will not let youdown. She had the wonton soup, I had the stuffed mushrooms. We can?t get enough of their starters here they are delicious andwell presented. The staff is very nice and on top of everything. The tables are set with a recycled paper tablecloth, whichmakes things feel very clean. We are children at heart and we actually played hangman and tick tack toe on the tablecloth whilewaiting for our appetizers. I tried the caterpillar roll at the suggestion of our waiter the first time we ate here and I?vebecome an addict. Her favorite roll is the California roll, and she doesn?t like cream cheese on her sushi which makes a lot ofrolls a dealbreaker for her. Second time here and everything is amazing every time I come. I sat at the sushi bar and had dinner and a show! Eni was amazing,... sorry if I didn?t spell your name right! Paid for extra meat an didn?t get extra at all ???? ?. We love ordering from hot tuna but togo almost always takes over an hour... for such a small order ? I arrive to pickup order and it?s still not ready most of the time and the restaurant isn?t even busyat all when I go :/ they just really need to work on getting food out a little bit faster . This is one review I regret doing because I love this place so much I don?t want to make it more popular! I have been here many... times, and what strikes me is the consistent quality of the sushi. My husband and I are never in Oldsmar, but we happened to be in the area after biking the Upper Tampa Bay Trail. We tried Hot... Tuna on a whim and ended up loving it. Loved loved loved this sushi spot! Great quality fish and amazing flavors! My favoritewas the conch roll. Even the ginger salad stood out as it had garlic in it. We will definitely be back! Great flavors! My first time here and I have to say I was impressed. They weren't skimpy on the sushi and everything was super... fresh. Very clean, nice, simple decor - and super friendly staff. Service was quick for lunch and love the fact they had a fewlunch specials to chose from. Would've been nice to have an authentic green tea (we had to put in our own tea bag into thepot).. OhhhEmmmGeee!!! I've been trying new places around different areas after recently moving to Pinellas Park. This place is worth... the drive if you coming from St.Pete or Tampa! Gabriela was the best and was always on point with the entire experience! Thefood. PHENOMENAL!!! The sushi was so fresh and tasty and a ridiculous variety for such a great value.
