Overall quite a delishish. My veal was a little disappointing, but maybe my expectations were elevated. The lasagna was very... good and the chicken dish was also. We arrived at 5pm and it was a good thing we did because the place was very busy by6pm. I've driven past this restaurant a million times, but this was my first time eating there. Obviously it is a popular placewith the local community. We will be back! Read more

Went to Luigi's for dinner while on a day trip with extended family, from small children to seniors. Not familiar with the area... I relied on recent reviews of local restaurants to find something where everyone had a meal option. Luigi's was the perfect fit.We had a large group (7 adults, 4 kids) and they placed us in the lounge, which seemed quieter than the dining room. The menuwas large enough to provide everyone with an option, from pizza and chicken tenders for the kids, to soups, salads, veggielasagna (5 stars from 2 of us) and meat/seafood. I don't know what everyone ordered, however every single one of us enjoyed boththe atmosphere and the food, which is a feat. Leo was our waiter and he was excellent. Staff were friendly and wanted to help.Felt like it was still a family business, run by a family who take pride on their work and care about their customers. I maynever be in Old Saybrook again but if I ever happen to be, Luigi's is where I'm going to be eating. Read more

I was in Connecticut for a family reunion with 23 of my extended family members ranging in age from age 3 to over 70. I called... on Saturday afternoon to ask if they would have availability to see 23 people less than 24 hours later. The staff could not havebeen more accommodating. They were absolutely wonderful and worked with us to make our reunion dinner a fabulous success. Thefood was wonderful. The service was excellent. I could not recommend this place more. Read more

Was excited to try this restaurant due to all of the 5 star reviews. However, it was a disappointing experience to say the... least. Service was good and menu had a lot of choices. I ordered the chicken parm. It had a lot of cheese on top and while I waseating it, I got a big piece of plastic wrap in the cheese around the chicken. The waiter did bring me a new dish but I lost myappetite after that find. The meatballs my boyfriend got were clearly frozen and cold in the middle. It seems like most of thefood is frozen with cheese put on top and thrown in the oven to mask it. Will sadly not be going back. Read more

This is a takeout review. All food is eaten promptly in the vehicle. I had garlic bread, meatballs, and Chicken Leonardo. The... garlic bread was nicely done, very saturated with the garlic butter. The meatballs were large and very packed. They had niceflavor from the marinara but were quite rubbery to chew. The chicken dish was extremely tasty with a nice touch of heat. Ithoroughly enjoyed it. On a scale from 0-10 I would rate this 8.2. Read more

Driven by many times but never knew if it was handicap accessible..Decided let's just try it. So glad we did. There are three... options for seating. Outside, bar, and dining area. We chose dining area. Was seated. Menu had lots of options. I chose ChickenPiccata and my boyfriend chose a 6 cheese pasta dish. Waitress was very engaging and catering. We really enjoyed our food andthe entire experience. Meals came with vegetables. Soup or salad and bread. Very warm crusty Italian bread. Super yummy. Great night. Everyone from beginning to end was fantastic. As we left the hostess asked how we liked our meals and opened thedoor for us. Its the little things that make you feel so welcome. Totally a redo place Read more

Last night we made a visit to Luigi?s for dinner on a recommendation, and we were unfortunately disappointed with our... experience. It started off great with warm bread and a very fresh garden salad with a delicious creamy garlic dressing. We lovedthe variety of pasta and sauce choices on the menu, but when I visit a new place, I personally like to try their marinara to seeif they can nail the basics. My friend wanted a lighter dinner, so she chose angel hair with aglio e olio and broccoli rabe. After a few bites of my cavatelli, I couldn?t get past how undercooked it was. The texture was throwing me off, and the marinarawas okay, but not impressive. I asked my friend how her?s was and she had me try a bite. We thought her dish was flavorless, andthere was so much water at the bottom of the dish that the pasta was swimming in. The place was packed, so we were reallysurprised that we were this unhappy. Maybe it was an off night, and maybe we?ll try the pizza or another dinner sometime. But wedefinitely won?t be ordering a pasta dish again. Read more
