Reviews for Uncle Julio's Old Orchard in Oklahoma City, OK
We enjoyed ourselves. The food and drinks were on-par (3 stars) with what is expected from a chain restaurant. The service,... however, was above expectations. The staff was OUTSTANDING. There were welcoming smiles and good energy when I came in. Evenafter *so embarrassed* I dumped an entire glass of ice water at my table right on the floor in the middle of the walkway throughthe place. And the employees made me feel much less mortified. We will be back for the service alone. Read more
Overall- decent. Fine. A place I /would/ go if my group was going but definitely not a place I would recommend. The chips and... salsa were good, but of course you have to pay extra for queso which docks points in my book. The service took eons- I went witha group for lunch that had RESERVATIONS and our entire trip took over 2 hours and we did not waste a single moment chatting.(also there were maybe 10 other customers total in that big building? It looked like a slow afternoon.) Every moment we werewaiting for our orders to be taken, for the bill to come out, for the bill to come back, etc. I ordered the chicken burrito bowland again, it was a solid okay. It was pretty dry but other than that it was okay. However... My main issue with thisestablishment is the price! I went at lunch, got the chicken bowl and a water... $14! No sides, no drink... 14 is what Inormally pay for a combo anywhere else. And on top of that the food AND service was mediocre. With so many other food optionsaround this area... This one's a pass for me. Read more
The food, the view, the service was all excellent ???? Get the guacamole!! Everything is truly fresh - chips, tortillas, guac.... And I had a lovely coming cocktail (the Swirl) for $5 during happy hour. Read more
My husband and I visited this establishment for the first time Wednesday evening, July 27, 2022. I should preface my review by... saying that I was born and raised in New Orleans, so I am a harsh judge of what I consider to be good food. I also have neverreally considered myself a huge fan of Mexican food. Not that I don't like it altogether, I've just never been to a Mexicanrestaurant that "wowed" me. Well . . . let me tell y'all . . . Uncle Julio's just became that place. The host asked if we haddined with them before. I responded that we had not. As he escorted us to our booth, past the open kitchen where patrons can seethe staff in action, he explained that Uncle Julio's uses only fresh ingredients and even has an in-house butcher. (Whaaaaat?!Mmmmkay, I like the sound of that!) The establishment was full of patrons, was clean and modern, and, honestly, was the mostupscale Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. We took our seat. To start, we ordered chili con queso and an order ofguacamole. The chips, of course, came with salsa. My husband and I, each, ordered the margarita swirl (Half frozen margarita, half sangria) . . . because Happy Hour, y'all! Let me say that while I have eaten guacamole from many Mexican restaurants inthe past, I have always preferred salsa because the guacamole always seems bland to me . . . and it visually reminds me ofjarred baby food . . . like it's pureed to death. Well . . . my opinion of guacamole took a complete turn during thisvisit. Uncle Julio's guacamole is made fresh-to-order and contains chunks of tomato, onion, etc. throughout. You can actuallytaste all of the ingredients! I went from someone who didn't care for guacamole to someone who could have eaten this by thegallon. (P.S. The leftover guacamole made for killer avacado toast topped with a fried egg the next morning!) And, of course, wewere also provided with hot, fresh, handmade flour tortillas. Yummm! The margarita swirl was delicious. I ordered my ve Read more
This was our second visit to the OKC location. We enjoyed the out door dining for lunch. Our server, Brilee was excellent.... Helpful, pleasant and attentive. The food was good. I was disappointed they did not have shrimp tacos. At other locations (notin Oklahoma) they do have them. I ordered the enchiladas (cheese and chicken). The cheese enchilada was thin, not much cheesetaste, mostly chili topping taste. The chicken enchilada was very good. My husband ordered the vegetable fajitas and he enjoyedthose. All in all good. Very expensive for a lunch. Not sure because of the price we will return. We understand all things arecostly now. Read more
The atmosphere was nice, the chips were light and crispy, the salsa was good and so was the sweet tea. Employees very nice and... attentive. However, the Queso had a musty and salty flavor maybe I'm not use to that type of cheese. I order 2 ground beefenchiladas and a chicken enchilada they were just ok, the 2 tablespoons of rice that I got tasted very artificial and the beanswere super salty. I wished the food was better because the staff was so nice, definitely won't be going back. Read more

The food here is delicious. It's a fun, casual place. Not what you would really think of when you think Mexican food usually,... they have a lot of different options, but they do have your basic enchiladas and tacos. Our waitress was so friendly. The drinkswere fantastic. The dessert piñata is super fun and everything in it was fresh. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is becauseback by the bathrooms there was a horrible smell. It wasn't coming from the bathrooms themselves. If they fix the smell backthere, it would be a 5 star spot for some great food and drinks. Read more
