Reviews for Johnnie's Charcoal Broiler in Oklahoma City, OK
The atmosphere was great. The burger was tasty but warm not hot. I may try them again
Great tasting cheese burger, onion rings. Sweet tea and chocolate pie! The pie was very big and very good.
Best Burger In the city. This local restaurant is the place to come for generous serving and a touch of diners nostalgia. ... Clean and spacious dining area and updated restrooms. DD and I split a burger with all the condiments on the side?so impressedthat they sack all of them in containers and packing(generous portions) Strawberry shake definitely impresses my 12yo. She gavethe verdict that it?s Hagen Daz rich ????????. Now that?s 5 star coming from a kid. Onion rings is our fav Lastly, we rthankful for freely and accommodating employees(maybe the boss weren?t around???????????) An ideal location to come crammed forur exam and support the local business???? Bravo Johnnie???? Read more
Usually great food; burgers, rings, chili, salad. The Chef salad used to come compacted in a black box with a very good amount... of everything you would expect on an $11 salad. However, yesterday I purchased a Chef salad to go. It came in a Styrofoam boxwith quite a bit of lettuce and a measley amount of other ingredients. Blah... I suppose the salad add-ons were minimized sincethis was an app order and I was given a $3 credit on that individual purchase. I would have preferred the old salad amount andkeep your $3 reward. As always, great food! Served hot and perfect. Favorite is the #9 Cheese Theta with extra cheese and pickles.
This is the first time we came to this Johnnies Burgers. It was awesome as usual. The sweet tea is VERY sweet. The onion rings... were to die for! We are so glad we don't live in Oklahoma city because we would be eating here a lot. I guess Oklahoma city isthe only place they are located. It's a little pricey, but worth it. Read more

This offshoot of the prior well known restaurant called the SPLIT-T a burger joint frequented as a drive in restaurant after... football games, is famous for a smoked red sauce that is not quite a BBQ sauce, but is more than ketchup or just any tomatosauce. The THETA burger, famous from DENCO'S Diner on the CAMPUS CORNER in NORMAN OKLAHOMA is still a best seller. I almostalways order this #9 with fries, and always with cheeze, but my family likes the hand made onion rings better. We all go for the( this is a classic chocolate pudding pie with whipped cream topping and then shavings of dark chocolate on top) chocolateicebox pie, which is sold in mammoth slices big enough to share around the table. These pies are fresh and made on the property,so they are available as a WHOLE pie, and often grace the table of many a family for dinner or just for get togethers. Johnnieshas been family owned and operated for years. The original owner's wife just recently died, but the staff under carefulmanagement has carried on these traditions. This restaurant is a place where people often gather in large groups, so it is notuncommon to see area groups show up together, but then also you can easily find multiple generations at table which is a funtradition to spot. Johnnie's offers two private rooms which can be rented out for functions and they recently added a loungewhere live music plays. I hope during the Summer Months, they think about taking over the parking lot after hours and have beachmusic and make it a big event. Johnnie's offers take out and eat in. They I think cater events, but I dk how large. Their meatis 100% beef and I think it is locally grown. They have a long standing partnership with Schwabs Meats in OKC, and I guess allthe stuff they use to make their stuff great is locally grown. I miss some of the long-term staff for Johnnie's but the newstaff is getting their stride. Drink machines are quite modern, but might make it so you just want to order tea. T Read more
