This is a must visit in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The history and the food is great. The service was excellent and we actually... met the wonderful lady who started this restaurant in her twenties. She was the kindest woman and very humble. Her familymembers are her support and I suggest that you go experience this place for yourself and just maybe you will be as lucky as mywife and I were to me the wonderful woman. Great tasting food!! At first I was skeptical because it was a lil slow service and I noticed that they didn't have a few... things available. But when that food came out hunny let me tell you it was GREAT!! I really wanted to give 3 stars because theportion size and price didn't add up. I decided to give 5 because it was all great and that's rare nowadays in the restaurantworld. My advice to this place is dump those lil side dish bowls and give us more of that good ole food. Everything on my plate was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I truly hope they keep the "promotional bacon-wrapped shrimp... appetizer." The flavor and texture of these plump and juicy shrimp made them the best bacon-wrapped shrimp I have ever had. Ialso love that you get 3 side dishes perfectly portioned. Cold beverages served in mason jars add the perfect Southern flair aswell. Read more
Was okay, I think I was a little upset because they were out if stuff, but not bad at all. Great service, kind of small on the... inside. Definitely not fast with the food but can tell it was made with love especially the yams! But I would definitely tellpeople to give it a try once. Read more
We arrived at 2:00 pm. Unfortunately they were out of alot of things on the menu including desserts. Our waitress explained to... us that during their lunch they sell out of alot of their entrees and sides. The smothered chicken, mashed potatoes with browngravy, macaroni and cheese, collard greens and corn muffins, was very good. We will go again but I want to get there at thebeginning of lunch for sure. Service was very good. Read more
I have been going here for years, never had a problem until today. First off we sat outside due to the fact the dining area was... smoky, the waitress came outside ask us what we wanted to drink but mentioned there was no kool aid, tea, or liquor menu. Weordered our food and it took 30minutes to bring it out which is no problem.Apparently the cook didn't arrive til after we gotour plates, our waitress said he only worked there for 4 days and he's the only employee at the moment not to mention when hebought our food out everything was cold and super sweet like sugar was added to everything. Whatever is going on needs to befixed this is beyond poor work ethic and I wouldn't be surprised if they started losing customers. The mac and cheese was waterysmh super disappointed today. Read more
Great place for southern cuisine. I had the fried chicken with seasoned green beans and candid yams. The yams were on fire, a... must try for sure. I followed up on some peach cobbler which awesome and fresh out the oven. There was a bar as well for afterhour drinks. The staff were courteous and knowledgeable of the menu. The place was very clean, and had a nice environment tochill and relax without being rushed. This was my 1st time and will be back for sure. Read more
