Reviews for Zhang's Chinese Kitchen in Ogden, UT
Very disappointed yesterday. Thought we found the perfect chinese place. But they changed the chicken on sweet & sour chicken,... it's like McDonalds chicken nuggets. I asked the waitress & she said yes they changed it on that & another dish. Sad. She saidthe orange chicken didnt change. I've never tasted that. Asked for a taste of sauce but she said they wouldn't. Love their eggdrop soup. But unless they change back won't be going back. Read more
Been going to the Ogden location for 3 years. The food is good, that has not changed. However, each visit the price increases.... Tonight not only a price increase but the take out portion shrank by almost half and no fortune cookies. Time to move back tothe old place we used. 9/17/2022 Decided to try one more time. The to go box got one size small and NOW the sweet and sourchicken has processed chicken like a chicken McNugget. Called and complained and they said they changed their chicken. Now I'mdone with Zhangs for good Read more
This is the best egg rolls and orange chicken we?ve eaten. The ham fried rice is second to none. We live in central Florida and... haven?t had it as good as at Zhangs. Attentive staff ???????? Read more
We have eaten here many times and really enjoyed their food. However tonight when we ate there the chicken was not good. It... tastes like frozen prebreaded chicken nuggets. I spoke with family and they said they had eaten there recently with the sameexperience. Something has changed and unfortunately it is not for the best. Read more
Three stars because the food was good and fast. We ordered online to go and it was ready quickly. The portion sizes are what I... would expect for a kids meal. We thought it was pricey when we ordered it and when we got the small take out boxes that weremostly rice, we knew we overpaid. Maybe it?s better inside? It tasted good. Beware that they don?t label the take out boxes andthe sauces look the same. The crab cheese wontons BARELY have filling, so don?t order those. The soup is good and a regularportion. The lack of ?adult? food was disappointing. I think we will drive the extra time and go to Wing-wah. When you orderfrom there, they fill a regular sized take out box and give lots of meat. Read more
We had not tried Zhangs before. I enjoy a good Kung Pau Chicken and my wife had sweet and sour chicken. Having selected the... dinner combo we got soup, spring roll, a shrimp and paid extra for crab puffs. I liking spicy had hot and sour soup. You wouldbe more inclined to call it gravy. It was very thick. Tasty though I did get a spoonful of I'm not quite sure what. The eggdrop was better and my wife enjoyed it. The shrimp were large and perfectly done. That was the highlight. Spring rolls wereover cooked and the cabbage was mush. The Kung Pau had good heat, but was lacking flavor. My wife's sweet and sour was heavilybreaded. The sauce made the breading soggy. Flavor was not the best. She left 90% untouched. We didn't ask for to go boxes. Thewait staff were friendly and very attentive. It was clean. Masks were required. They seem to have a bigger lunch crowd accordingto the stats. We probably will not return again. Read more
Came for a birthday celebration and wasn't disappointed! Great service- our party was 11 people and all orders were accurate and... hot when delivered to the table. Drinks were kept full and the general atmosphere was pleasant. Always happy when I find a placethat has walnut shrimp let alone one as delicious as theirs is! The almond ding was also pretty good with lots of almonds. Thecalamari pieces were battered perfectly and fried to perfection, wish they had more dipping sauce options but nothing elsecould've been better for me, definitely will come again. Read more
We tried both locations for Zhang's in hopes it would be better than the other, but they are both terrible. They are costly; the... chicken tastes and feels like rubber, as if it comes from a box out of the frozen section of a grocery store, the rice is dryand has nothing in it, and you have to order a la carte to get rice that has anything in it for even more money. I hate leavinga negative review, but it boils down to being expensive and gross. The drinking water smelled and tasted like dishwater which Isee has been commented on before by another review.
