And the pad see ew was ok. I like they had a kids menu with decentselection and portion. I?d pass on the boba tea. Read more
Tried Laan Thai as our daughter's are exploring foods they like. This trip knocked it out of the park! The Boba drinks were... great, the kids portion perfect and the right amount of balance. My wife had yellow curry and I had the combination Pho. Wow!Ate a lot and still left with plenty of leftovers. This is great niche restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. There waseven a live concert happening outside in the grassy Square. We'll be back! Read more
Very delicious authentic Thai cuisine and I've tried many in Utah and this place is more than great food but a wonderful... experience where locals can feel close to the culture and foodies can feel the love behind the creation and attention to eachdish. Really loved the extensive menu with well done pictures and descriptions to help a newbies and entice veterans to try newitems. Liked the options for heat/spice level as well. From what we had the Lao Salad only a few places can do it this well, best massaman curry, delicious combo appetizer platter, fried bananas with coconut ice cream was a delight and glass noodles andpad thai were done to perfection just make sure you pick the spice/heat level that you like and we love it hot! I rarely give 5 stars. You have to earn them. Laan Thai does just that. This restaurant checks so many boxes we were shocked.... Typically restaurants fall in a category or two. Flavor, Cost, Service, Cleanliness and Decor, and branding. Food The food isvery flavorful and the mixture of flavors stands out. We had the crispy duck red curry and pineapple pork fried rice. Theflavors and textures are expertly crafted. The crispy duck is in fact crispy. Seems like a small detail. But many mom and poprestaurants don't take the time and care in the food details. This restaurant does. Very impressive. Also the serving sizes arehuge! I suspect that over time the food quality and at least the serving sizes might change. They have only been open for 4months. It will be interesting to see if they can maintain that business model. Cost The cost is a bit higher then most places. This is not a "cheap" date night. We spent about 25 a person for just the for the 2 entrees. Before people complain this isdefinitely a "you get what you pay for." The cost is in line with other restaurants in this price range. Totally worth the cost.Especially if you enjoy Thai! Service Wow! It is not often service is top notch in this kind of restaurant. Typically theservice consists of very friendly staff. The service watched our table very closely. Which was very refreshing. There was nostaff members sitting in the corner on their phone. Every moment was utilized by the staff for their customers.Impressive. Clean/Decor This is possibly the restaurants only downfall. The restaurant was clean. It is decently taken care of.The decor is not cheesy or over the top. The videos that were playing on the TVs was an interesting choice. They should showcustom videos of their own or stock content of Asian inspired Street food. They were streaming some random YouTube video ofstreet food and some guy walking around a city? I like the idea. But it cheapened the feeling of the restaurant. Some awesome A Read more

TL;DR: food is excellent with a lot of flavors. Friendly service and reasonable prices. A must go in Ogden. We went to Laan... Thai on a Thursday night at 7PM and were promptly seated. After being served lemon water, the owner came to take our order. Theyactually just opened, 3 months ago. We each took 2 dishes, 1 starter and 1 main dish. I had the cucumber salad; ingredientswere fresher and the sauce served on the side was delicious. I usually eat my restaurant salads without sauce as I don't findthem good. For this one, I wished I had more of it! Then I ordered a special Nam Tok. The meet and sauce was full of flavor, Iloved it. It was served with a side of sticky rice, simple but delicious. We finished with a mango sticky rice, it was areasonable size and well prepared. Overall we had a great experience. It took a bit of time for my spouse food to be servedversus the rest of the group, but nothing too bad. I highly recommend this place! Read more
