Delicious! You will not go home hungry, portions are on the bigger side. Loved the southern fried chicken sandwich with baked... beans side ( the sandwich doesn't come with a saw so pour the baked beans on top of it trust me you won't regret it unlessyou're wearing white). Cute little restaurant. Veggie omelette was very tasty. Not over cooked. I could still taste the different vegetables. Restrooms... could be gender neutral, no urinal. Women?s restroom could use a remodel or TLC. Evidence of a previous flooding. Laminate wasbubbled and torn. The toilet seat was hanging on for dear life, don?t fall in if you chance it. Please stay seated ed for thewhole ride! The chairs are a great idea in the restrooms, just get ones that are more sanitary and can handle the restrooms, thematerial was peeling. Maybe just changing the fabric and putting rubber tips on the legs footings for the occasionally restroomaccidents. Other than that everything was great! Been here a handful of times. Most of the time it was a pickup order. This was actually the second time I'd ever dined in. The... very first time was when they had first opened. Today, the food was exceptionally good. I ordered the brisket with a side ofcollard greens and cabbage. The brisket was tender, juicy and not overly sauced. The greens and cabbage were nicely seasoned.The cabbage had a sweet buttery flavor and it still had a bit of a crunch (which I prefer). The staff were friendly andattentive. They provided good service. The only negative was that the lighting could be a tad brighter, especially for tablesnear the back (by the bathrooms). Otherwise, this was a very pleasant experience. The employees are very kind and attentive. However the cleanliness of the restaurant and the quality of food made me regret... choosing to go to Felix's instead of my usual place next door. Issues: Ordered coffee and they didn't have regular creamer, theyonly have French vanilla. We asked for sugar because the sugar tray was filled with empty packets of opened sugar. Both of ourcoffee cups were extremely dirty. I ordered the fried Chicken and waffles because that is one of my favorite Southern meals andit was lacking flavor. We also ordered the salmon croquet and it was horrible as it was extremely dry, overcooked, and not freshsalmon. The cleanliness of the facility bothered me most. The floor is sticky and oily. Everything is covered in dirt or grease.Honestly if the food was spectacular the cleanliness would have bothered me less. Read more
Omar is always helpful in our many questions. He answers all our questions w patience n a smile. That?s important when we are in... our 60?s , 70?s n 90?s. All your staff regardless of how busy they are give the best service with a smile. We will always comeback. I chose the ox tails w rice and gravy and fried okra as a side. Excellent just excellent. Tender with every bite. Yes Ihad left over and yes it was just as good if not better the next day for lunch. We left laughing, happy and full. Read more
I ordered the full rack of baby back ribs with coleslaw and sweet potato fries ($32). We also got 1lb of brisket ($15, not on... their regular menu). Very good value on the brisket. We ordered the fatty cut. It did have a lot of fat, but we did ask for thefatty cut so we can't really complain about that. Also it seemed like if anything, they gave us more than a pound. Our waitresswas very nice. Sides were decent. Rib meat fell off the bone. Brisket tasted great. Their BBQ sauce was good. My only realcomplaint is their tall tables are kind of tall with chairs not high enough, and very uncomfortable chairs too. I could feel thewood bar under the cushion like I was sitting on a 10 year worn out pillow with most of the filling gone. However, I wouldn'tremove a star just over that considering the overall experience. Read more
Oh my! My husband and I wanted to try a new restaurant for Sunday lunch. The dish I had at Felix?s BBQ in Oceanside, CA, was... soooo DELICIOUS! I got their new dish, Louisiana Cajun Classic - catfish with this amazing and flavorful orange Alfredo sauce.The Catfish was cooked perfectly, every bite was so juicy. The collard greens were seasoned well and tasty, the macaroni andcheese was good too! My husband enjoyed his baby back ribs and he loved the collard greens and Mac as well! Five Stars with Soul. First time guest on an October Saturday afternoon. A friendly voice welcomed me. The lady invited me to... have a seat. Not familiar with the menu, I just ordered a lunch box special of fried catfish, fries, and coleslaw. Two freshwarm biscuits also came with the meal. My drink was just iced water with a slice of lemon. It was a nice, simple lunch. Everyonewas friendly and attentive. I usually would check out the restroom, but I didn?t need to go this time. Overall, the restaurantlooked very clean. The plates and silverware were fine. No chipped plates!!! It was a nice atmosphere for a lone diner likemyself. I?ll come again.
