Reviews for Tai Shan Farms in Ocean View, HI
This place is phenomenal, we went there for dinner on Saturday, enjoyed every bite of our food with awesome live music and the... great hospitality of the owners. I got the mushroom taco basket. Everything was super delicious. Loved everything, the food, thevibe, the view, everything. Read more
Such a pleasant surprise! We stopped by here for dinner around 5:30pm and snagged the last table. We never noticed anyone... waiting, so tables seem to move quite quickly. The open-air ambiance, fresh flowers, and view made this a lovely spot fordinner. Our favorite on the island so far! Amongst our group, we had the passion-fruit smoothie, filet mignon 3-course meal, stir fry, and cubano. Everything was spectacular, the filet was cooked perfectly, and the vegetables were delicious. The vanillapanna cotta for desert was smooth and not too sweet. You can?t go wrong here! Read more
This is now one of our favorite stops on the island! The food was fresh and delicious - we got the mushroom Mac, fish and shrimp... tacos, spicy Rita fizzy drink (super refreshing), a few chocolate Mac cookies and a chocolate dessert for the two of us. When wefound out the dessert was gluten free, we ended up getting one of each the remaining to go for our friends, we meant to save thecinnamon roll for breakfast but ended up eating second dessert at home :). Esther and Kevin have really created such a special, warm and inviting place. We chatted about their farm and their focus on sourcing sustainably and locally - you can really tastethe freshness of everything we ate. We cant wait to come back again for the food, the view and especially the great company Read more
My wife and I are staying on the Big Island for 5 weeks. We have been staying for one week in different areas of the Island . ... This is the absolute best food we have had since we have been on the Island! Tai Shan has a vibe which reminds me of theBritish Virgin Islands, however the food is way better. We live next door to a 5 star restaurant when not traveling and TaiShan could give them some lessons in how to prepare tasty meals. The restaurant is a little quirky, which in my opinion adds toit's fun. When you arrive, go to the register and put your order in. All food is individually made to order in the order it isreceived. They will take your name. Then sit down if a table is open. If a there is not a table available immediately bepatient. They will call you when your food is ready and most likely a table will be ready. My wife and I were at a table for 4on a very busy night and offered the 2 open seats to another couple who's food was completed shortly after ours. The 4 of ushad an enjoyable discussion. My wife and I returned the following night. It wasn't as busy the menu had been slightly changed, but the food was still outstanding. Thank You Ester and Kevin Read more
Our first dinner at Tai Shan Farms was on Valentine's Day. They were very busy. We walked in and were immediately welcomed by... Esther. We ordered the filet mignon and seared Ahi Tuna. Kevin perfectly cooked and seasoned both the filet and tuna. Theside dishes of potatoes and rice and mixed veggie were perfectly paired additions to the meat selections. The freshness of allthe ingredients in the salads made it one of the best I have ever eaten. We finished dinner with one of Esther's homemadepeanut butter cookies. A perfect ending to a great dinner. We decided to go back again the next night as we wouldn't be in thearea again to enjoy the delicious drinks and meal selections. I ordered a salad with beef tips, blue cheese crumbles, all freshtomatoes, cucumbers and lettuce. (I am not a big fan of blue cheese crumbles so they substituted Parmesan for me) Their housevinegrette paired perfectly, but the added perfectly smoked bacon, made by Kevin, put the salad over the top! We finisheddinner again with one of Esther's delicious desserts, pannacotta! My very favorite dessert. Thanks to Esther and Kevin for twovery memorable dinners on the Big Island! Read more
I have been to many restaurants (see my reviews) and so far, this restaurant has the worse service. Waited two hours for a table... and our orders took an hour and a half to arrive. All the other tables around us who came after us got served first and finishedbefore we even got our food. We complained to the (cashier lady) and she had one bad attitude. Skip this place. DO NOT COMEHERE! Lots of better restaurants in the area. I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE. I would give them a negative 5 stars if I could, butunfortunately I couldn't. Read more

Every time I come here I'm blown away. Food is always incredible, the pastries are hard to resist, try the hot sauces they are... not just spicy they are flavorful and really add to the dishes! Don't come here expecting fast food, everything is made withcare and is well worth the wait. Read more
