I have been going here since I was a kid. Was excited to go back again this year, with my husband and had been talking it up... before our arrival in OCNJ. The service was horrible. They have a system to take orders while in line outside and usher you inthrough the store to the register to get your ice cream and pay. Frankly, that system didn?t work. We were stuck clogging up theexit as the large group behind us kept being given parts of their order first and the workers had no idea what we ordered. Myice cream was melted (in a paper hot dog container) by the time my husband?s was ready. Not to mention-they can?t properly readthe orders they?re taking because his order was incorrect when they handed it to me. Then they got irritated when I told themthat it wasn?t correct. Always great ice cream! A family favorite.
Giving this place 2 stars for the taste of the ice cream and the young kids working behind the counter. They were great. The... other parts were not so great. Let's start with the lady at the door who thought she was put on this Earth to crack the whip atpeople to make sure they were all in line, double wide, and no more than 2 inches from the people in front of them. Even if theywere not in your group. Once we found the "proper" spot in line someone was immediately in our face to take our order. We hadn'teven had a chance to find where the menu options were let alone read them. After rushing through our order we waited a normalamount of time to reach the register. The prices were a bit high. And then if you ordered more than 2 scoops you get handed apaper dish with your ice cream. I don't know who thought that was a bright idea but it was not pleasant to eat out of. Thinkwhat a normal hot dog basket comes in at a ballgame. Location was great for us but if we have another option next time we'll goelsewhere. Read more
This was the worst place I have ever been to.Ice cream was great but overpriced.the one lady was laughing at our names and the... whole time her and her coworkers were judging us.never felt more uncomfortable in a ice cream place. Read more
Classic feel good ice cream all made from scratch. Got the FBI - it?s was delicious but more so it just felt like a great beach... experience to get homemade brownies and ice cream from a local place serviced in a little paper dish. Place will put you in afood coma with their rich combinations but it?s worth it on all levels. Only complaint would be fairy high price (almost tenbucks per item) but given its local small business with made to order food it?s worth the higher price tag to support a businesslike this. Their ice cream tastes homemade, and that is a good thing. Our order, money, and food exchanges were all taken outside, as the... inside was not yet open. What can I say about the ice cream? All the flavors that we ordered were delicious. Rum raisin icecream was good. The St. Peter's Gate's soft cookies held up against the creamy and cold Black Cherry Vanilla, cookies-and-creamice creams. I tasted one of my family's Cookies and Cream cones, and I had to force myself to give it back, or I was going toeat it all. The prices could be considered a bit high, but you often get what you pay for as homemade quality has a price. Iwould get ice cream from here again. Read more
I followed a newspaper article trying the ice cream shops it recommended in New Jersey. Ocean City is the place I usually go for... the beach with kid. Surprisedly to find out this one in that list so I decided to go that far south. Then Surprisedly to findout it is pricey to the portion I got for a Sundae besides flavor.
