Waitress was very nice, no napkins in there we had to use bathroom hand towels. They gave us our food and my wife wanted... mushrooms and onions on her steak. They had to go get them and I was almost done my dinner by the time they got them for her.Always something here we keep coming back why I don't know. Read more
Our favorite Bob Evans is in Lakeland, FL, where we first fell in love with their famous sausage gravy and Sunshine Skillet.... That location had consistently competent and pleasant servers with good morale. This location in Ocala was okay enough. Myhusband had the well-priced sandwich and salad combo. He said his BLT (bacon, lettuce and tomato) sandwich was very good. Thegrilled chicken, glazed pecan and cranberry salad came with blue cheese on top and poppyseed dressing on the side. The combocame with a choice of toast, biscuit or banana bread. My husband said the banana bread with real butter on the side (yes, myhusband spread his with butter) was very good. I had a bowl of their hearty chicken noodle soup. It was okay but missingsomething. My husband likes bland food but even he said it was kinda blah. He added salt to it. The wait staff was absolutely amazing and the encore was delicious. I had the chicken salad which came with corn tomatoes I... added avocado and beautiful dressing. For the drink I had hot chocolate and for dessert I had banana bread with their houserolls. I would definitely recommend this location as a healthy option for any lunch or dinner sit down spot in. This is the Bacon ???? Cheeseburger no lettuce, tomato, mustard and grilled onions. I got home fries which were good, and Mac... and cheese, the Mac n Cheese, was not good, it was more like a soup base, and it didn't have much flavor. We've enjoyed Bob Evans for many years but haven't been for some time. We were saddened to see many of our menu favorites gone... (pot pies, supreme pumpkin pie, grilled cheese and some vegetarian options including a vegetarian friendly soup). We came in tokick off the holiday season and found that we couldn't get pumpkin bread with our meals only banana bread or biscuits. Whothought that was a great idea for the fall? Erika took good care of us. We figured out menu substitutes for the most part. Theextra meat protein bowl was very good as was the slaw, and the banana bread was as good as always (just wish it had beenpumpkin). The mac and cheese, cod, and french fries fell short - average and plentiful. Wish there was less and better ifthere's a cost trade off. Clearly short staffed, but everyone hustled and smiled.
