Reviews for Lamplighter Cafe and Lounge in Oakland, OR
Just had bad prime rib and bad service. Paid with a business check including a nice tip and was treated like a criminal. Told me... to wait until they talked to owner. I don't take orders from children so I offered ID and said I am leaving. 3 people followedme out as I helped my elderly parents to the car and shouted things at us as I helped my parents. I went over to them and toldthem they had just lost a customer forever. Two very young looking girls and a tattooed male persisted to argue . I demandbetter. I will not be talked down to by children. This place use to be really good NOW, in my opinion, the prime rib sucks, thedrinks are bad and clearly the staff are completely un- professional. I WILL NEVER EAT OR DRINK AT LAMPLIGHTER CAFE INOAKLAND. Worst prime rib and worst service EVER. Read more

Amazing food. Laid back atmosphere and the staff were incredibly friendly!
Really tasty bar food with lots of options. Full bar, beer on tap or by the bottle. Big screens with current sports. Friendly... service. Also video poker machines if that's your thing. Open on a Saturday while the other restaurants in town were closed.Recommend trying if visiting Oakland, Or. Read more
Back again, absolutely astounding food! The owners, Jami and Ron Gettemy did this right. The kitchen was remodeled with two... bathrooms added. The menu is eclectic and tasty. The poppers, yes, the poppers are superb with a toss of pork rinds on top fora nice crunch. Request the bacon jam -- a homemade concoction that serves as a side. Fish tacos (cod or ahi) not to be missed. The white cheddar burger and side of sweet potato fries was excellent with crisp bacon. The photos scream yummist on all weordered. The front is a small restaurant-- the back a hidden bar. I suggest you walk the town and view the buildingsarchitectural features and be sure to turn the corners. Read more
Was super Excited to try this place, finally made it there tonight. Had the 2 burgers and 2 brews for $20 Wednesday special. The... service was good, it was a great modern atmosphere, everything from the counters to the floors to the chairs looked and feltnewer. Full bar and beers on tap, we had the RPM, which is our fave. We both had the bacon burger with garlic fries and goop(fry sauce) everything was spot on. Huge tv in the bar plus 2 medium ones on each side, live music tonight, although we didntstay to hear it. Cool painting hanging in the bar area. Other patrons were polite and not all drunk and roudy like you get atthe pub. Will definitly be back to try some more grub and check out game day. Am very pleased to have a good restraunt inOakland, that has alot of food options but also not high prices. I think the prices were fair and the food was seriously worthit. That tattooed up guy serving us seemed chill and nice but not hovering or rude, so very good experience all around. Foodcame fast. We just went back and had the fish tacos, fish sandwhich and stuffed peppers and they were bomb! Read more

First time trying a local place, it was open on Monday. I had the seared ahi tuna tacos, which was a special. It came with 3... tacos but I could barely eat 2. The fish was very bland and very very raw. Another in the group had the cod fish tacos andstated the same, very bland. The tacos did not come with sides, and to get a basket fries would coast another 7 dollars. Whilewe were eating we saw two young girls in aprons walked out to go smoke and we gave them props if they were the cooks but theinexperience left a bad taste in our mouths. Not sure if I'd be ready to go back. It was a cute little place we stayed in thefront and didn't get to check out the back area. A little bummed that they did not offer a children's menu but the service wasfriendly he was very informative. Read more
