Had dinner here last night and the food was spectacular. From the burrata to oysters, the gnudi was phenomenal. The duck leg was... spectacular. For dessert we got chocolate mousse bomb and the apple cider doughnut cake and they were delectable! The servicewas pleasant and it was well priced. Read more

In celebration of my 10 million views on Google maps reviews. About 45 years ago when I was about 14 years old, some kids tried... to bully someone at a local park and I stepped in and gave them hell. I didn't know it, but at the time. Michael Wilde, founderof the Bay Wolf restaurant, was watching me stick up for his sons who were being bullied by some local bullies. I developed arelationship with him over the years, even trying to work there on more than one occasion which he allowed once or twice, butthen quickly fired me telling me, " look. You're a musician. Do music!" He was right, I did, and it worked out like crazy. Istuck my head in here tonight out of nostalgia, looking for a place to celebrate my 10 million views on Google maps, but thesmell of the food drew me in, the executive chef has authored some of the greatest dishes currently served in Oakland, theservice is completely on point at a level that you'd have to experience to understand, and the kitchen and staff are a living, breathing, throbbing organism, beautifully functional, with a heartbeat and a mission. This is the high class Novell cuisinethat made Oakland and the Bay area famous. (Some might say Berkeley, but Michael was always on another track from Alice to beginwith, and I was there to witness it so don't mess with me) I stepped in and asked to eat at the bar, ordering the heirloomtomato salad, which completely blew me away, and was so beautiful. I really had a hard time disturbing it to enjoy it. Thetomato, hints of pesto and olive oil, savory tomatoes and burrata cheese, all flowed together so well that I asked for somebread to sop up what was left over. My main dish was the rotisserie chicken, succulent and tender floating in a small layer ofwhat I can only call. Yummy chicken juice, (is there any really "high class" way to approach chicken? I don't think so. This isfood for the working class no matter how you plate it) the portion was generous and I ended up taking half o Read more

I love The Wolf. Cocktails are great, wine list is impressive, and every dish out of the kitchen has been outstanding. So good.

Ordered the duck confit and clearly, the food was incredibly well curated. The duck skin and leg worked as a remarkable... combination with a savory sauce, while the cornbread somehow threaded a balance between a hard, crunchy exterior with a soft, melted interior. However, the service was a little lackluster: the server was clearly rushed and despite us having made areservation, it took them quite a while to get us a table. Read more

This place does not miss!!! Everything my gf and I had here for our meal was absolutely delicious. Drinks were delicious. We got... the Brussel sprouts and the Roti for an appetizer, and both were really flavorful and not overly filling. Our entrees weredelicious and filling. I honestly cannot wait to go back! Stopped by for lunch at the Wolf. This building has a great look and feel to it. Service was spot on and it was a nice but... somewhat uneven meal. The popover sounded great so I started there and was surprised when it came sprinkled with so muchcheese. This made it a little messy to eat and it was huge. The outside tasted great but as I worked my way to the inside, itlacked salt and butter. They graciously brought out butter upon request but it was cold making it hard to spread. Tried theamanté cocktail because well the ingredient combination in this drink seemed amazing. The drink itself was a little weak andcould have used something to make it a bit more sweet; grapefruit is a little bitter after all. The flavor did get betterhowever as it further developed in the glass. The real star and saviour here was the fried fish sandwich. It was phenomenal. Itwas bursting with flavor, juiciness, lemon, and so on. I highly recommend it and so do the staff for good reason. Overall, Ilike this restaurant and would be interested in returning to try their other mains. Read more
