I feel this place is overlooked, it's in a great location near Grand Avenue and Lake Merritt. The bar is welcoming, the bar... staff are chill, friendly and sure know how to make cocktails. The wait staff are friendly and attentive, without overdoing it.They have a diverse menu and everything I've had so far has been great. Well worth a visit. Read more
The food was phenomenal and the portions are hearty. This is a must visit for if you love cocktails. I don't have it pictured... here but my sincerest recommendation is the "Caged Heat". It's not too spicy, it has just a little kick to on the back end.Atmosphere is good for a date, meeting with a friend, or venturing a long. Staff is polite as well. Here is one of my rare 5stars. It's always a pleasure to visit Sidebar. I tend to sit at the bar most of the time since I throughly enjoy their cocktails.... Their food menu items hardly ever change, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. You always know what food to expect. On thisvisit I ordered the Green Fairy Tea Party cocktail. Yuuuuum! What a delightful cocktail made with Absinthe, green tea syrup,lemon, mint and something else which I don't recall. Their cocktails menu does vary as the head bartender is alwaysexperimenting with drinks. If a cocktail is not on the menu just ask and he will make it for you. I always like asking him tomake me something by giving him a couple of ingredients and let him be creative. So far I have not been let down! Read more
Amazing! We went with no reservations on a Friday night and easily got a seat at the bar. There’s a wide selection of wines,... beers and cocktails and the staff are very helpful in giving suggestions. The food was fantastic! We had the Scottish salmon andthe steak frites and both were delicious. The atmosphere was cosy and relaxed and service was quick. Will definitely go back! Read more
I've traveled the world somewhat but this the best bar I've been t ever. From an amazing welcome at the door to a friendly bar... man who on his first day here made me the perfect Daiquiri ever! Sat at bar and enjoyed the stupendous service and cocktails. We ordered the soup as an app and the burgers for dinner. Food was... great and the price is reasonable. The only gripe I have is the selection on the menu. Overall I recommend side bar as an afterwork mid tear $ dinner and drinks location. P.s. arrive early to find parking because it is a nightmare.
