Reviews for Palmetto in Oakland, CA
This place will get you some, point blank. Took myself here and ended up in own bed the food was so dank.
Great Bartender (buzz cut red head) = Great drinks! As we say where I'm from "that boy is good!"
Excellent service and cocktails. There's a Mon-Thurs vermouth happy hour too. The wait-staff were friendly and attentive. Many... of them might have more tattoos than the BOH crew... Read more
Art deco vibes to die for. Excellent food. Amazing service. Perfect cocktails. Came here before a show while visiting from... Seattle. Would definitely go again. The scallop crudo is out of this world. Read more
Fun throwback ambiance, decent variety of food selection. Halibut was slightly overcooked but overall no bad.
Great new restaurant right across from the Fox Theater, the space is beautifully decorated with a tropical vibe to it. Excellent... service from all the staff, and the food and drinks are delicious. My favorites are the brussels sprouts and hamachi crudostarters, with the steak and fries entree. The cocktail menu is split between classics and house, which are very unique and tendto lean towards the tropical side to fit the vibe. Highly recommend trying it out! Read more
This was one of the best dining experience I?ve had in years! Super safe while being warm and inviting. The food was delish, we... had the pork chop and the halibut (both were stunners). The drinks were excellent too! I was celebrating and they kicked in somefree small glasses bubbly for the occasion. Will be returning very soon!!! Read more
Came here on a double date night in August and was so excited to try this hot new steakhouse in Oakland. The location is... wonderful right across the street from the Fox Theater and it was a lively Friday night, so fun to be out with this level ofenergy "post" Covid. The decor was super fun and made for great pictures. The amazing part pretty much ended around here. Atthis price point you'd expect great warm friendly service. Our waitress got the hip part down but not the friendly or takingcare of your customers part. She arrived, no introduction, no specials, no greetings. Just a casual "Are you ready to order?".Ummm...sure? The conversation from her the rest of the meal pretty much ended there. We got four appetizers for the four of us,expecting a real appetizer given that each one was about $14-20. Instead they should have been called bites. Barely any food. They did give a few cocktail shrimp and the sauce was good, but nothing you couldn't have gotten at Whole Foods and not puttogether yourself. We did try escargot for the first time which was fun and pretty tasty but again, bites. We got entrees toshare. Our friends got the trout and we got the pork chop. I will say the pork chop was absolutely delicious so I don't mean tobe rude. But again, the portion sizes. It was barely enough meat to make one person satisfied and at $45, even withinflation/supply chain issues right now, you would think you'd get a full entree. My pisco drink was good and we did have a funtime with the ambiance. But you do expect to get what you pay for and for friendly service. What we experienced didn't meet thatstandard. Read more
