No frills, authentic Filipino food at Tipunan! I've tried almost everything on their menu and I was never disappointed. Their... new location at the Oakland Food Hall is a little bit of a drive for me compared to their old location. I recommend orderingahead as it takes them a while for them to prepare the food. You get an estimate when your food will be ready and it is usuallyon the dot. The shared kitchen concept is really interesting and I'm glad it's available to small businesses. Read more
Picked up some delicious filipino food from Tipunan! Missing some home cooked sinigang and turon. GENEROUS portions and served... HOT. I love that they ask if you want patis (fish sauce) which is not something you always have on deck until you NEED IT. Theyhave mango nectar as well. The Gina brand that we all grew up on. :) I wish they had Sarsi (filipino root beer or something) butthe Mango nectar was my first choice anyway. You can order online or at a tablet and then you watch around for the food. Took awhile but worth it cause it's hot. I walked in to order so I'll order ahead next time. Ate outside at these cute little tableswith umbrellas since the weather was so nice anyway. There is parking! That is a great plus. I didn't get to share any food withmy boyfriend....so I will be back! Hi so this evening I ordered chicken quesadillas from MexMix Grill. The order says it comes with salsa and sour cream which is... why I ordered it. When I got my bag it didn't have sour cream and so I asked for it. The girl at the counter said they'd gonehome at 10:20 pm and the app said they close at 11:30. So then I go ok I rate you a one star and then she goes ok I'll go getit. She brings it and I leave. I get to my car and she had obviously put salt in it. I have never tasted sour cream so saltybefore. She's nasty. A nasty heifer. And a liar and lazy. And shouldn't be working for any food service establishment. Becauseshe obviously tried to poison me with salt. She needs to be fired. I mean she was really not nice pretending to be so. And thebathroom was disgusting. And I did say something I guess that's why she said no at first and when she saw I was right said she'dgo get it D what is wrong with people. Read more
The individual restaurants are all sperate and everything is automated from order to pick up. The annoying part is you can place... your order online and you'll get a text saying ready in 30 minutes. There nothing that tells you you need to confirm your orderwhen you get there on a tablet. There one person working the desk but she doesn't offer any assistance unless you can manage toget her attention. I stood there for 10 minutes before I watched enough door dashers come in to figure out the system. Getbetter staff or at least have better prompts on how to pick up your orders. Read more
Hard to figure out the lay of the land when I first got there. From outside it looks like a coat check and some lockers. Very... weird. I finally figured out there like six restaurants out of this one storefront. So you order on an iPad with isn?t very wellmarked, then on the right side you are supposed to check if your order is ready on two other iPads before going to the ?coatcheck? windows. Got the Pork Shoulder Bowl from Umami Express. So delicious and flavorful! I only give it 4 stars because it was barely warm... when I got home, which was only a 10 minute drive. Would have liked it to still be hot when I ate. But the flavors were spot on,and I feel like I got a great amount of food for the price. Would get again! Read more
