Such a cute cafe with delicious food and drinks! Very friendly and accommodating staff, I wanted to make a few adjustments to... the drinks and they made it work! Got the vegan breakfast burrito and vegan sausage muffin, both really flavorful! They havelots of coffee and tea drinks! The London fog was very good, their tea leaves are fresh! Drinks came out right away, food took afew minutes longer. Will definitely be coming back for more! Read more

We had lox and dragon sandwiches for breakfast and it was good. Update: after visiting this place a few times I can say that... food here is decent but the wait is always long and even makes you want to cancel your order. We waited 30 min for a bagel andbreakfast burrito and a half of potatoes in it was undercooked. I can't recommend this place because it takes so long to get thefood ready. Also, it is not open at the time they advertise. I was working in the area and wasted time coming over, just to findit still closed. Read more

I have been here several times and had been very satisfied with my drink but my last stop was a very big disappointment. The... oak milk was non-fat and truly non-taste, my espresso was like drinking a subpar americano. They were not upfront with thechange and when I advised that the 5 dollar, 2 shot drink was enough reason to not return they didn?t even offer a replacement. I didn?t even drink the swill. I like the place but I use to go for the drink. Consistency in coffee prep is the bottom line, that includes all the ingredients. Read more

Delicious coffee, outside tables are available, no restrooms, staff members are very effective in what they are doing.

My favorite East Bay cafes for working during lockdown - #1, Hudson Bay One of the things I miss the most during lockdown is... having a place to get coffee and work for a while ? yes, I know I?m not alone there ;) So I?m going to share my very favoriteplaces to work during lockdown ? i.e., cafes that have a fair amount of outdoor seating (and preferably decent Wi-Fi coveragetoo). The Hudson Bay café was a fairly regular haunt for me during normal times, and during lockdown it?s running pretty wellwith lots of safety precautions: Perspex screens, sanitizer, and a window counter if you don?t want to walk inside. Staffmembers were super-friendly as usual and there?s always good music playing (it?s faint outside, so I could just barely hear TheSmiths and The Weeknd drifting out through the side door). One thing to note is that the prices are very reasonable ? my veggieburrito cost an amazing $7 (or maybe $7.50) ? and it had guac in there too! And it was big! I also had an oat milk latte and aslice of pound cake and the whole tab was around $14. For comparison, I paid the same amount at another place this week for acoffee, cookie and plain croissant. Lockdown Stats: ? Seating: There are about 6 tables outside and chances are reasonable thatyou?ll get a spot. If you?re stuck without a seat you can hang out on a bench outside the library across the street. ? Bathroom:Another good thing about going to Hudson Bay to drink a lot of coffee ? the bathroom is open! It?s surprising how many caféshave no bathroom availability after selling you a big old cup of diuretic! ? Hours: Note that they close at 5 pm at the moment, not 6, but they?ll let you linger till maybe 5:30. ? Weather: Hudson St. faces southwest, so it?s often pretty warm, even aroundclosing time! ? Budget: As mentioned above, Hudson Bay is one of the cheapest places around (esp. on College Ave.) to getlunch. I?m also giving the Hudson Bay Café 4/5 ?green stars? for social and environmental impact, bas Read more

Nice little corner cafe. Nothing fancy. Decent food. I've been meeting a friend there for a few weeks and it's pretty busy on... Saturdays. I like it well enough to order lunch and stay to get work done after my friend leaves. I love that they have actualsandwiches - sometimes you need more than just a quick muffin or bagel (they have those too). Food is pretty solid, but don'texpect a side salad. Doors are usually open, so can get a nice little cross-breeze. Sometimes a bit noisy / echo-y. Can get alittle crowded since it doesn't have a lot of seating. A few tables outside, great if you bring a dog, but definitely on thesidewalk where people will walk by frequently. Bathroom is a tiny triangle - I hate touching doorknobs, but they don't havepaper towels (air dryer) and the doorknob is in the corner, so hard to open with my shirt / etc. Reasonably clean andstocked. Overall, great place to work for a bit or meet a friend for coffee. No frills, but surprisingly good selection of foodfor a small place. Read more
