I was in Oakland for a show and this was perfectly close to the show and I was blown away by the tasty food they served. There... were not many people at the restaurant and there were too many takeout orders that the kitchen was busy. The pot stickers andthe sauce were delicious as well as their vietnamese soup. Very reasonable plant based Vietnamese food. Service was pretty inattentive during lunch hour and flavors were generally... mild/lacking. The eggplant clay pot dish was wonderful and garlicky but everything else was on the bland side. Read more
One of our new favorite vegan restaurants in the bay! Food isn?t overpowering (seasoning, oil, etc.). Everything tastes fresh... and made with intention. Great sit down spot. Not a long wait. Will come back to try the soup dishes. We had spring rolls,gourmet spicy chicken + brown rice, and sticky mango rice. All were delicious. Prices were very reasonable. First time ordering from the restaurant. One of my daughter?s favorite vegan places to eat. She recommended it to me. Very neat... and tidy. Took the wrong order home 30miles from work. Called them back and they were very polite to replace my order. Yes myfault for not double checking even after I mentioned my name and a guy repeated it thought it was right. Van, manager called meback apologized and offered to give me my real order next day. This is what I call excellent ???????? customer service. Irecommend them to everyone. growing up my grandma, mom, uncle, and i would walk all the way from Chinatown to here for lunch. it's been over 10+ years since... ive order from here. walking into the restaurant was definitely a nostalgic experience. I'm not sure if this spot is still thesame owners from when i went as a child but for the most part (with the interior design, menu options, and location) it's prettysimilar. mango sticky rice ($8) spicy noodle soup ($15) fried potstickers ($8) i appreciate how they take a lot of stapleVietnamese dishes usually structured from meat-based to veggie based. i personally tried the spicy noodle (which is similar tobun bo hue) -- the soup base is super bomb and they also used the bun bo hue noodles. perfect for the cold days like now. as forthe fried potstickers they were pretty bomb and had great flavor and texture but not something i'd regularly order as opposed tomy spicy noodle soup and mango sticky rice. and something id highly recommend if you stop by. the last item i ordered was themango and sticky rice. usually, I'm pretty picky when it comes to desserts as I don't enjoy them being too sweet. which is whytheir mango and sticky rice is perfect as the sweetness of the mango paired with the slightly sweetened sticky rice. tips: -perfect for vegetarians and vegans but also great for those who are interested in trying delicious vegetarian and veganoptions - street parking available - walking distance to oakland chinatown, telegraph, broadway area/lake merrittt - familyand kid-friendly - available for dine-in and take out Read more
