This place makes a mean fried chicken sandwich! Came by with 7 friends on a Friday night and the bar was perfectly crowded to... provide ambiance while still having 1 open table for us to snag. The sandwiches only took about 10 minutes and the guy who runsthe place, Will, couldn?t have been nicer when he brought them out. 5 stars for sure and I?ll be looking forward to coming backand trying new flavors in the future. Truly a delight! So glad Fowl + Fare has taken up residence at The Lodge. The fried chicken sandwiches are perfectly fried,... piping hot, and damn delicious. Plus, the fries are seasoned well and a very generous portion for the price! Can't wait to trymore items. Update: Got the beef tacos and will have a hard time NOT ordering them if they are on the menu every time I'm atThe Lodge. They are so packed with tender meat and cheese. Just SO GOOD. Can't wait to try the chicken version! Read more

I?m a rather well traveled person within the United States and I?ll be d*mned if this isn?t some of the most well- curated... combinations of flavors and consistencies ranging from crispy to mouth wateringly juicy I?ve ever had. I have yet to have asingle item on the various menus that Fowl and Fare has featured that wasn?t an overwhelmingly positive experience: fresh allbeef burgers, chicken that?s never ever dry, specially seasoned fries and homemade sauces that remind me of better times andreal home cooking. Will, the Master and Commander of his all-star Fowl and Fare team, has gone above and beyond to provide aculinary experience that the Bay Area should feel privileged to enjoy in a friendly, homey, and laid back locale. I plan onremaining a loyal regular until they shutter the place or I finally get put in the ground. Simple as. Read more

Extremely delicious sandwich, though pricey for what it is. I would have expected to pay ~$12 for it, but it was $16. At that... price, it should have come with fries, but those were $6 more. Especially since it's served out of a bar instead of an upscalerestaurant where such a price would make sense. Only gripe with the citrus hot, which I had, is that the breading was ratherthick and firm. I would have liked to see it a bit more flakey to better spread out the flavor and have a more satisfyingcrunch. Because of the thick breading, the sandwich exploded with juices on my first bite, nearly staining my clothes. Overall,if you have money to spend, it's a very delicious sandwich, and I look forward to being able to to splurge and try another one. Read more

spicy citric chicken sandwich was really tasty -- I thought the slaw was a perfect balance to the spice. fries were super crispy... and well-portioned. that said, it's 50% spendier than my favorite competing hot chicken joint, which is as good or betterimo. I'll be back, but not super often. Read more

Such an excellent chicken sandwich!! Glad I skipped breakfast because the Citric Hot and a side of fries really hit the... spot. Chicken is excellently cooked, juicy, and with a nice crunchy breading on it without being too thick. Also huge, but thebun kept up. Great pickles, slaw, and sauce too. Top notch, make sure to keep an eye on his Instagram so you can get an order inbefore he sells out. Stop by The Good Hop and grab a BYOB for a picknic on the grass in Jack London. Read more
