This is one of those institutions of the neighborhood. Servers were very friendly and food was ok. But it took 40 minutes to... get our food. With no explanation until the food arrived. "Big to-go order and a large party in the back room." Which we couldnot see from our table. Gravy was thin and so were the grits. Food was only warm. I worked at Jefferson fountain from 2000 to 2004. When myrtle and Lynn and Joyce Pam and her mother where the originals that... were there sad when some have passed on but they still carry on the tradition and jack and Connie green where so great to workfor and even jack s bro John who worked in the pharmacy lots of good times and great customers. Had the deluxe burger and was excellent. Just the right size Not a small, thin thawed patty, but well prepared. Servers were... friendly and attentive. My friend and I are both over 80 years old and were shown patience and kindness. Much appreciated! Read more
Waited over hour for a BASIC order. Biscuit/gravey, bacon, two scrambled eggs and one pancake. Had to get up because another... customer apparently already had our booth after we had sat for 10 minutes in the booth lol.... Literally two people cooking andour server came by maybe twice in the hour that we waited. Then one our food came out it was given to the wrong table. I willnot knock the food it was not bad just if you plan to eat here set aside at minimum and hour to two hours. Really need to eitherget more help or limit capacity. Read more
Wasn't happy with my breakfast but my boyfriend got the Philly cheesesteak and holy wow! It was huge, good and totally... reasonable pricing. He also had to get a chocolate malt and of course he didn't share??????????? Service was good. Lot ofhistory. Worth checking out, even if it's just for ice cream ???? Read more
Really enjoyed my homemade potato soup and grilled cheese! The coconut cream pie was also amazing! Very nice folks in there... too!! I eat there whenever I go to Oak Ridge! If you haven't eaten there, you should definitely give it a try!! Read more
This place has been around a very long time, and it totally looks that way. Don't let this deter you. I had one of the best blt... sandwiches I've ever eaten here. I LOVED the chocolate milkshake, it's delicious! The onion rings are really tasty also. There'snothing really spectacular about the menu offerings, but the food is good and the service is friendly and prompt. The bathroomsare old and could use a bit of cleaning. If I am in town I'd definitely stop and grab a shake as a special treat, because I'vekinda been dreaming about it. This said, I'm not sure this would be a destination eating place....it might be a one and done. Read more
