Old fashioned here is flavorless and so was the mussel ravioli sauce. I wanted to like this place since servers were mostly nice... and the atmosphere was nice, but the food was bland and the bartender took the check book before I was even done. That seemsunusual... Read more

Update 5/2021 - after moving, this place somehow managed to get worse. See my review on Victory - and I can't believe I'm... saying this - but you're better off going there. The owner is completely checked out. Most everything is from a can (includingthe artichokes in the antipasti, or stale meat plate as it should be called - see the photo with the prosciutto that looks likeit sat out all day) and the Vitello Piccata had so much salt I had to spit it out. When we asked the owner so taste it he hadthe nerve to say "I don't need to taste it, I know how it should taste". What? BTW - see the owner's response to my priorreview and that's all you need to know about this place. --- Too expensive for both the quality, authenticity, and portionsizes. I don't know how anyone can give this place 5 stars - but, since the reviewers who did also gave "Buckingham Fountain"five stars - maybe you should try their Italian food :) It's too bad because the service is pretty good, but they are clearlyonly making the attempt because overpriced food means over-tipping. If you want real Italian, don't eat in Oak Park. Godowntown. Read more

Great Night Out in Oak Park! La Notte is indeed a gem. For me this quaint spot on Marion Street checks all of the boxes. Fresh,... Authentic, Family Owned and Managed, Passionate, Engaged, Flexible. The wine list was wonderful. The Limoncello a delight, thecannoli a dream. The amazing attention to detail is rarely found in the business these days and it was truly appreciated duringour evening. The Italian sea bass was plated table side and not a single bone remained. It was perfectly complimented by thegrilled vegetables and prepared to order pasta. I am told it is made from scratch daily. (it sure tasted like it was) If youdon't see it on the menu.. ask and they will prepare it for you! I am looking forward to my future experiences at La Notte inOak Park! Read more
