Excellent service and drink selection, I ordered a smash burger Carolina style (onions, slaw & chili) with a side of white... coleslaw. (I asked for a tomato but ultimately wind up just pulling it off as it didn?t really add much lol) The burger wasseasoned well in the slaw was super flavorful however that was a bit too much bread for my taste. Their choice of using a fairlydense slightly cakey bun detracted from how tasty everything else on the burger was in my opinion. I sat right near the biggarage door and enjoyed a nice slight breeze I didn?t have any issues with being too hot! Quite comfortable! Will likely stop byagain for dinner next time I?m on the island definitely worth the recommendation especially if you have a moment to take enjoy around of skeet ball! Read more

Sent a message to check for a table and I got an almost instant response! Awesome communication led us to give Paul?s a try... tonight. The Garlic cheese curds are ridiculously good and even a generous portion stood no chance against my kids. Brian cameout from the kitchen to say hi( he was answering messenger) and Helena/ Becky offered the best service we have had on Oak Islandbar none! We had two burgers and a chicken sandwich. There was zero disappointment in our orders. The food was fresh ,flavorful and fantastic. We will be back , Paul?s is awesome. Read more

Myself and coworkers had lunch today there for the first time. Most of us have heard good things about the food and service,... well it was all true. The fish and chips were cool the way it should be, light brown coating, most on the inside. My coworkerheard about the smash burger and loved every bite. Service was top notch. If you?re looking for fast friendly, professional service, good beer select, great cocktails and food, this is a solid choice. I... like the atmosphere is more toward the hip side, however not pretentious at all. All the food is delicious, so it is notpossible to name a favorite. However, I am partial to the ribs, and the fries are fantastic. This is definitely a regular spotfor us whether we are looking to have a drink or meal.
