Never had a bad meal at Broadway Bistro! Food is absolutely delicious and I love the Caribbean martini!
My mother-in-law wanted to try this restaurant for a dinner with neighbors on Saturday and I was pleasantly surprised. Overall... we had a very positive experience and the food was enjoyable and well prepared. I liked the variety of seafood and seasonaltouches on the menu. We loved the basil pesto they serve with the bread and the cocktails were enjoyable and well made. I hadthe special salmon rillette appetizer and while it was good, I wished I had ordered the scallop with the risotto appetizerbecause another member of our party ordered it and it looked fantastic. I like smoked salmon and goat cheese and the fillingwas well seasoned, and the beets and mango were a nice complement to the dish. The rillettes were perhaps a bit overstuffed withcheese, and quite filling. The grilled shrimp with crispy angelhair pancake looked good although my mother-in-law left her pastauntouched as she said she was not used to sweet pasta (presumably from the coconut balsamic sauce). For entrées, I had thesautéed scallops and shrimp with pancetta and wild mushrooms and peas and I thought the dish was a bit salty (but expected itbecause of the pancetta) it was very well done and the mushrooms were meaty and the pancetta was delicious. The seafood wasnicely cooked, I just wish that the scallops were not covered in sauce because they were browned beautifully and presumably hada nice crust at one point. I?m not generally the biggest fan of butternut squash, but the puree on the plate was smooth andheavily seasoned with cinnamon and paired well with the saltiness of the sauce. They don?t have a children?s menu but theyoffered a few options for my son, and he had linguine Bolognese, which did not look as meaty as the pappardelle Bolognese thatmy husband had (which was outstanding, the sauce was quite flavorful and the pasta was tender, definitely homemade) but heenjoyed it. Be careful. They charged us wrong price on purpose. The lunch special is $24, but she charged plus $5 for each of us. She... seemed to do it on purpose because when we asked her about this wrong price, she promptly said "oh sorry, it's typo" withoutlooking at the receipt. That means, she did it on purpose. I guess she thought we don't speak and read English well, but herplan didn't work well this time. Attached is the revised receipt. There is no way she typo the price for the signature lunchspecial. In addition, she gave us an aisle table for some reason despite they had no other customers. There were many bettertable in the back.
