It was so flippin’ delicious. There are few options in this area that can even come close to being as well prepared and tasty... as Canggio. ???????????????? Be sure to try the passion fruit juice! I’ll begin my review with the thing I’m disappointed about the most: how the heck has this restaurant been around for 5+... years and I’ve only just discovered it now?! Let me tell you…Canggio far EXCEEDS even the most glowing reviews you’ll readhere on Google. When we called this evening to book a last-minute reservation, the young woman who took the call was theequivalent of sunshine over the phone. Happy, cordial, beyond pleasant. When we arrived, the happy voice on the phone matched upto the bubbly, smiling person who greeted us at the door. Yup. I knew this dining experience was already off to an amazingstart. My husband and I sat at the bar and we were served by Alayna, who provided us with much-needed assistance in choosingmenu items. I legitimately wanted one of everything. When you see the menu, it will be clear why. We went with Alayna’srecommendations and each plate was absolutely divine. For an appetizer we had the ceviche and mussels. Entrees: I had the 1/2chicken and my husband had the lomo. Then we finished with the sweet potato and pumpkin donuts (which I believe we’re owedsome kind of award for inhaling in less than 60 seconds). The owner, Julio, came out and chatted with us at the end of our mealand it was really the perfect end to a perfect dinner. I’ve already put my husband on notice…I’m on a mission to try everydish on Canggio’s menu (including the red snapper that comes as a whole fish!). This restaurant is the definition of a hiddengem. This restaurant is such a gem in Norwich! The vibe is super chill and elegant at the same time, with top tier quality food and... service. Every single dish I have tried here tastes amazing and is presented precisely perfect as the chef is a man ofintegrity, character and skill. The dishes here are unique to this restaurant and are not found made at this quality in just anyspot, so try something new and expand your tastes to Canggio, you won’t regret it. Read more
We ate here Friday night. Great little find. Weirdly, the Spa at the Inn at Norwich had no clue this place existed. Our food was... fantastic; great spice, great flavor and attention to detail. The chef even came by to ask how things were (nice touch). We hadtwo special cocktails. I loved mine — Sangrita. But what made it all worth it was the casual low-key atmosphere andunbelievably friendly, upbeat service. I forgot her name but she was super helpful and incredibly nice (she’s Italian). My new favorite place to meet a friend in Norwich. A welcoming place with exceptional service. The wait staff knows the menu... and is in love with what they are serving. Our entrees were perfect. We were out to celebrate our anniversary and we were looking for a special place. We found a VERY special place in the Canggio... restaurant! If you live in the Norwich area, or if you are tourists like us, you really will find delicious authentic Peruvianfood with the best service. Our server and host, Emma, took the time to explain the Peruvian dinners and deserts. Everything ismade from scratch the Peruvian way! Prices are reasonable and the food is delicious with a warm friendly atmosphere. Also, theyhave a nice bar. We highly recommend! And they support our veterans. Read more
