I love the home cooked food from Blue Plate the call in & order is very nice but can get frustrating. The indoor dining... experience is not my favorite & not b/c of how overcrowded it can be at times but the waitress staff is so busy its hard to getyour food quick compared to pick up & rarely asked for a refill on my sweet tea. But I have to say the food makes up for all thelittle things its great I've tried most on menu over the years & some are exceptional good ole home-cooked style while othersnot so much so I tend to stick with what I know & the occasions chicken & dumplings are on menu i suggest trying them & if uenjoy catfish it is always flaky & very good not overly oily & if fried chicken fingers aren't what your looking for I canassure you the grilled chicken finger strips are exceptional! Me an my wife have really began to love the place and the environment of the restaurant. We had a great waiter ( Cody) that was... very nice and checked up on us from time to time . This is a wonderful place to dine. The staff was friendly and our order was placed in a timely manner. We were served a basket... of cornbread after we sat down. The cornbread was delicious. Food was hot and very good. I definitely recommend you visit theBlue Plate if you're in the area. Read more

Good food but not as good as it used to be. Don't order a Jr chicken finger plate unless your kids can survive on two of the... smallest chicken fingers you've ever seen. Still good overall though. Read more
The waiter was courteous. The food was cooked to order and delicious. I ordered the fried pork chops with mashed potatoes and... gravy with macaroni. They brought out a basket of cornbread as well! It was my first time there and I'm willing to drive 35 minfrom Birmingham to come back! Read more
Not everything was perfect here, but there were so many "right" things that I can't give them anything less than all 5... stars! The disappointments were minimal: we asked could the salmon be cooked to a specific internal temperature and were told"no way". The personable, bubbly waiter had no doubts the chef couldn't handle a specific request. We also ordered a countryfried steak and requested the gravy be served on the side. The gravy was all on top of the beef, but it tasted good regardless(and my daughter wasn't too concerned). Lastly, we requested hot tea and were told they do not serve that, BUT the waiter,being incredibly creative, offered to heat unsweetened tea in the microwave for us if we desired. Lol. We ordered the chickenlivers appetizer and it was perfectly cooked: crispy crunchy on the outside, soft and buttery inside. They have a very largeand appealing list of "sides" options. I had to order just a plate of sides, getting fresh fruit, a garden salad, rutabagas,lima beans, and purple hull peas. Oh my it was all great, especially with the complimentary cornbread served as a family sizedcomplimentary appetizer. *note* the fresh fruit cup was filled with canned mandarin oranges on the bottom, but with the freshfruit on top it was very tasty. Cornbread was not overly sweet. ????. The veggies and the soup were not over salted! ????????The service was cordial and efficient. ????
