Every time I go I enjoy the experience! I’m a local real estate broker who lives in Old Town, so this restaurant is only... a15-20 minute walk along Lincoln Park to get here. It really is a hidden gem! The food is unique and amazing and they offergreat vegetarian options. The bar/lounge area is really nice to relax and meet for a pre-dinner cocktail. The cocktail list isoutstanding. I celebrated my birthday there as well and it’s very easy for group dinners. Also, Ash, the owner, is the nicestguy and makes sure you are always having a good time. We haven’t been able to visit this new location since the pandemic and it was sooo good to be back!! The servers and... management were so thoughtful and frequently checked on us/went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We celebrated myhusband’s birthday and they nailed it! I hope to see another location in the burbs so we can visit more regularly again. Fromthe appetizers to the dessert and everything in between- it was cooked perfectly. One of the best meals I've had and frankly we mostly ordered small plates. Beyond the food though are stellar drinks that also... offer a cultural experience. We tried the fancy flight, which is authentic tequila served the traditional way. I won't spoil itfor you, but it was definitely worth the price tag. Highly recommend and we will be returning ASAP. We had a wonderful outdoor dining experience at Mesa Urbana during the dinner hour! As a pro tip if you make a reservation for... Friday dinner, they have live music playing on the outdoor patio for diners to enjoy! We thoroughly enjoyed both dishes that weordered, the queso fundido ($19) and the carne asada ($42). The queso fundido comes with six soft corn tortillas for you to makelittle tacos with. Even though it is listed as an appetizer, it is actually quite substantial and filling! Service was fast andfriendly, food is slightly on the pricier side (expect $40-$50 a person for dinner), but I would definitely come back in thefuture, especially for a special occasion! Read more
Mesa Urbana is definitely a spot you'd like to try. As you first walk in you can head to their bar or restaurant seating area,... it's not stuffy and their staff is welcoming and attentive. Variety of apps and they're all delish, cocktails are 10/10. Ourserver Alex made us feel welcomed and knew his stuff when we asked for recommendations, def would recommend. I had family in from outta for the holidays, and after two weeks of cooking and doing the Chicago typical outings, I wanted to... show my family a hidden gem ???? so we came to Mesa Urbana. It was a hit with everyone. From the signature mango seasoned salmonplate, to the new chicken breast dinner plate and the Halibut special was amazing ????… the wine list is excellent as I wasable to pair Mexican wine ???? with my fish plate… dessert was excellent as well from the Capannari’s Icecream ???? needlessto say the family enjoyed very very much. I love this place, from the staff to the decore and fresh ingredients used on all thedrinks and food I can’t go wrong here. I've been to MU when they were located in Northbrook and it was amazing. Decided to visit their new location and loved it. From... the moment we walked in, Mo the owner greeted us at the door and sat us down. The restaurant both indoor and outdoor isbeautiful. Plenty of seating and is decorated beautifully. Ezeer our waiter was fantastic. He was adorable, so sweet andattentive. Both Mo and Ash the owners would come around to be sure we were enjoying our meals. Loved it! We ordered theshrimp ceviche and it was so tasty with a nice kick. The cauliflower was killer good as well. We also ordered the chickenpasta dish and I tell you.... It was the best I've ever tasted. I want more! The Carna asada dish was also spectacular. Cooked to perfection. The margaritas were ???? delicious. One of best I've had. We had such an enjoyable meal at Mesa Urbana last night! Very nice ambience on the inside, not many people there as it was early... on a Wednesday night. However, our cocktails were incredible (the cocktail list has several fascinating and innovative options),the apps (sprouts and elote) were very tasty, and our short rib was a highlight as well! The staff was also very nice, niceenough to bring us out some sample Mezcal to try as we told them we had just finished doing an engagement photoshoot and lovedMezcal. definitely try this place out!
