I had fonder memories of Deer Garden prior to the pandemic. I went just today and was pretty disappointed. We had the laksa and... original fish soup, and both tasted pretty watered down. For $15.75 not including tax per meal, I felt like I got scammed forwhat I got. Service was quick, standard, and nothing much to write home about. I enjoyed the milk tea, it was quite strong andtasty, but I can't say the same for the noodle soup as it isn't what I remember it as. You get to choose several broth and toppings yourself, almost like a hotpot bowl already cooked for you For each of the... customized noodles order , you get some veggies (cabbage and bean sprouts) already, so if you eat meat, order double the meatfor a more satisfying bowl. A local favourite, Deer Garden has possibly the best choose-your-own-noodle selection in the GTA. The secret is in the soups. ... The no MSG but full-flavour soups are amazing and fills the tummy. I enjoy them a lot and come here often for both take-out anddine-in. There's a regular fish soup, the century egg + parsley, gingko pepper soup, malay laksa soup, and more. Something foreveryone and I've yet to have a bad soup there. My only tick is that the price has gone up significantly since they've opened,but that's more of a complaint on the pricing since COVID started. A great option for lunch or dinner! Read more
