The drinks were great and very refreshing. The Tuna Tatake & Crab-Scallop-Lobster Cake appetizers were outstanding. We had the... stuffed Lazy Mans Lobster & Salmon Oscar for entrees. They were all fantastic. They ran out of the potato croquette for thesalmon so had to substitute mixed vegetables, so that was disappointing since I heard so much about them. The service was verygood and certainly above what you would expect in a place like North Smithfield, RI....but saying that and re-reading that onlybrings to light how these non-city restaurants are giving you service, food, and experience that you could only get in the city. This place is so very downtown Boston worthy, if not above it because you get a friendly welcoming feeling not only from staffbut also from other diners. In closing these small town establishments are stealing the show and worthy of the drive from thecity to their warm and welcoming doorway. I will be making many more visits here. Read more
First of all the service here is some of the best I’ve had. Period. Don’t let the Tavern in the name throw you. This is a... first class restaurant that is highly praised, with a loyal local following. Yes, reservations are recommended. We were lucky toget a seat at the bar. Now, you would think bar service might be less- than but it was the absolute best. Gary was the mostpersonable, poised, and efficient server I’ve had in years. Maybe ever. He also had a teammate behind the bar that was just asfriendly. Now the food- this is some incredible food. The sauce on the calamari made the whole dish. My husband had a stufflobster entree that was not only delicious but incredibly beautiful. We went big on the meal because we were celebrating ouranniversary. Yes, you guessed it-dessert too. Our new favorite place! Amanda was our server to our table of 8! She was very attentive, great personality, excellent waitress.... She didn't miss a beat. through our entire dinner!! When it was time for my sisters cake, she noticed my mother wasn't at thetable, and waited until we were all there to bring it out . She even asked us if we wanted to order for someone at home beforeclosing us out. Sara, in the kitchen, is simply amazing! The food was out of this world delicious. We even joked that we were ata 6 Star restaurant. The owners should know that they hired 2 top notch employees when it comes to Sara and Amanda. We willdefinitely be back, and definitely telling our friends about Lucky Dog Tavern! Read more

First time at Lucky Dog Tavern was on a busy Friday night. Restaurant is cozy and seats about 50 people. The bar seating was... occupied and the wait time for a table was approximately 45 minutes. We stood near the bar and had a glass of wine and martiniwhile we waited. After about 15 minutes, two bar stools opened so we sat at the bar. We started with a charcuterie board andflappers, then steak and scallops special and clams with linguine. Both appetizers were quite filling and most of the entreeswent home in a Togo box. Overall the food was gourmet, service friendly and not too expensive. Read more
