Reviews for CafeLaDeDa Market & Bakery in Highlands, NJ
I was here about a month ago from out of town and was so excited to find somewhere I could get some treats (very rare). I also... can't have dairy so to find gluten and dairy free options was great. I got the coffee cake and the mahogany bar...so good andthe servings were big! I also got the frozen loaf of Italian bread, and I just ate it this past weekend and it was amazing ????do not pass it up. I still have a few other items I am looking forward to trying. I'm sure it's not easy to run a business likethis but it is so appreciated by those of us who need it. Not to mention the people were very kind and helpful (even when Iforgot my card there!). I can't wait to visit again and maybe I will even just order some online until then! Thank you thank youthank you!! Read more
If you haven?t checked this cafe out, you need to hurry in! Top quality tasty food. My egg muffin was amazing, savory and tasty... with no dairy or gluten. You could have fooled me! Also purchased the dairy free Brie cheese and it?s truly one of the best DFcheeses I?ve ever had. Read more
Absolutely fantastic meal, I eat there after a stop at Sandy Hook and the owner and I shared some great conversations about the... local area. A relatively new business but it has amazing food and the vegan sandwiches have the best bread and carrot hummus omgit?s amazing. I bought their Cauliflower Alfredo and vodka sauce featured in the picture is chick pea penne with Kale broccoliand arugula! It was fantastic thank you so much for the food and great hospitality, definitely coming back! Read more
Amazing spot. Very warm and cozy. Had the home made pizza and it was very delightful. Desserts are to die for too. The owner was... kind and chatted with us. Will definitely come back! Read more
Not that impressed. My sandwiches had very little chicken and brown lettuce on them, pretty thin for the price. The lady at the... counter was very nice and talkative, helpful with info but somehow didn?t give me a receipt so I could see what I spent $178 onfor 2 bags of food. It may be 100% gluten free but most of us will have to continue to search supermarkets for food we can eat,as the prices here are exorbitant. Nice for a gluten free snack out Read more
Lots of gluten free options- sweet and savory. Some interesting cold drinks too. Prices were higher than expected. Cafe tables... outside. They also have a big selection of frozen items you can make at home. I enjoyed my tuna wrap but my friends quinoa bowlwas very undercooked Read more
We took an adventure down the shore and wow was it worth it. This fully gluten free facility served up hot cinnamon buns that... were to die for. My husband stole the donuts. I love their baguette that tastes a lot like the good Italian bread from back inthe day. Their cannoli shells were exceptional. I also bought a bunch of prepared meals that were lovely. Chicken parmesan, eggplant parmesan and excellent pizza. The staff/owner was incredibly helpful, the place was immaculate and a wall of keto andgluten free items were also available. She carefully distinguished between keto, vegan and vegetarian. The entire kitchen wasgluten free. I'll be back! Read more
Loved this place at the previous location. So many options and so friendly. Today was not a reflection of this. First off, the... woman behind the counter was condescending and not helpful at all. Nothing was labeled and she made it awkward to ask what eachitem was. There was barely any food and when asked if they could make what was on the menu we were told ?it?s first come firstserve? okay then?it was only around 1pm so hardly too late considering they close at 4pm. The prices are absurd. I don?t want tohear you use the best ingredients etc etc there is no reality where it?s acceptable to charge $40 for 3 cake pops, a crumb cakeand a few bagels. Not to mention the counter girl said the cake pops are made from scraps of cakes. She also said in a flippantway that the cake pops were either chocolate or vanilla when in fact the ?vanilla? one was some kind of maple, which I despise. So I had to struggle through a $6-7 ?scrap pop? because I couldn?t throw money away. As someone with numerous dietaryrestrictions and health issues this is all concerning. I used to rave about this place to everyone and it brings me no pleasureto say that I will no longer be a customer here. Read more
