Been here a few times and cupcakes were good. Love the ice cream BUT this weekend I ordered three dozen and ordered every... flavor! Let me tell you, my guest fell in love! They smelled and tasted amazing! Something about ordering a fresh batch justmakes it even better. The young ladies are always super nice and my experience has always been good. Also learned that you canrequest any special Flavor they?ve made in the past if you order in advance. I was able to get in the infamous cannoli?s cupcakethat I always seem to miss during specials! I remember the first time I tried Smallcakes in SD about 6 years ago. Fell in love with it instantly. Excellent service and... great quality here as well, and I gotta say it's real nice to have access to one so close to home. Well done and an excellentjob by everyone on the team. They are very good at upselling. The cupcakes are massive but affordable and delicious. I also love that they have a new flavor... every week, and my only complaint is that there's no variety besides that one per week. Every place has the same flavors, and Iwould like to see some new items introduced after going to 3 different locations in different states in 2 years. The ice creamis also a must. Read more

The ice cream is pretty good. Not as good as it was when they first opened. Gave them 3 stars because although the desserts are... good, its super awkward trying to decide on what to get when the employees ask a million questions about your day while you?reordering. I understand wanting a welcoming atmosphere but they?re super aggressive with the questions and the conversation isforced. It?s like that every time I visit. I never leave reviews but I had to for JadaWayda. It was my first time there, I had an outrageous sweet tooth and she definitely... took care of me. This was my first visit and I decided to go all out and order the mason jar. The employee who helped us was friendly and very... knowledgeable. All of the cupcake choices looked delicious and I decided to settle on a red velvet cupcake with red velvet icecream. It tasted great and my daughter enjoyed her unicorn ice cream. However, that might be the last time we order those. Forthe two mason jars and two cookies my total came out to $30. I do plan to visit again eventually, but I probably just get asingle cupcake or a single scoop of ice cream because the prices are a bit higher than some other ice cream/dessertshops. EDITED TO ADD: I tried the cookies the next day and I was not impressed by either. They look fun and tasty but the tasteis not good to me. On the plus size, they are large and shareable. However, if it had been up to me to eat those cookies bymyself, they would've been in the trash. I had the M&M chocolate chip cookie and the s'mores cookie. The minute I walked in we were greeted by both associates with open arms, setting the course for such a wonderful experience.... They had high-energy and made my whole ice cream/cupcake buying experience fun. I felt like a little kid again at the candyshop. They were excited to tell us about the different flavors and encouraged us to sample a bunch of different options. Eachsample tasted so good, the only hard part was choosing which flavor was slightly better. I ended up getting what they call a?smash cake? which is essentially a cupcake in a cup with ice cream in between. The cupcake I got was a hot fudge sundae onewith nuts, hot fudge, and a cherry on top. The ice cream was what they called ?Cookie Monster? which tasted VERY GOOD mixed withthe cupcake. They don?t skimp out on these portions either. The whole thing took me 20 mins to eat. Smallcakes is definitelyTop 10 on my list for dessert places. I hope they stay around for a long time. Read more
