Reviews for Sugapeach Chicken & Fish Fry in North Liberty, IA
Food was good. Nice restaurant. Staff was friendly. I'd eat here again.
Beautiful owners!! I suggest they not reheat their food so often the only thing I found fresh was the fish and chicken however... everything was good just a little mushy from over re-heating kind of like eating Thanksgiving dinner all week. If it's on themenu you should be able to order it but they were out of items when the doors opened 30 min prior so I don't think they cookfresh food daily. Read more
Amazing people and great, great food. As Southerners we’ve felt a little out of place in the area, but this place feels like... home. I can’t recommend them enough. Read more
I'm not much of a cook, and when it comes to all things fried, i leave it up to the pros. to be honest, when I moved to Iowa, i... thought my good fried chicken days were over. I've never been much of a KFC fan, and I love my sides to taste home-made. Then Ifound Sugapeach! Crispy chicken on the outside gives way to steamy, moist chicken on the inside. Soul perfection. Add to it someDelicious sides - including hush puppies which brings me back to my childhood. Amazing food and beautiful people who own/operatethis place adds up to 5 stars in my book! try it... they'll treat you like family! Read more
This place is great! The owners were so nice, very helpful, explained everything on the menu. Had fish & chicken. Both were... amazing! Lightly breaded, flavorful. Sides were great too. We got our taste of southern cooking right here in North Liberty. Read more
I was in the mood for fried fish so that is what I ordered. I also ordered the collard greens and a sweet potato pie spent over... $40. The fish tasted as if it had been freshly fried yesterday. I mean cold and stale. The collard greens were not tasty at alland were extremely bitter and ridiculously oily. The only thing fresh was the pie. The sweet potato pie was good. For the pricesI expect quality, fresh food. I am very disappointed. Read more
*Long sigh* I was really craving soul food that I didn't have to cook and I found this restaurant while we were visiting Iowa... City. The restaurant is beautiful, the owner is a Georgia peach, but the food is only 3 stars????. I wanted to give 5 starsbut the food did not have that soul food kick! I had the fish and chicken combo with Mac & Cheese, Collard Greens (delicious),cornbread ( delicious but too small) and Spaghetti; just like another poster said, the food tastes like it's seasoned fordiabetics and I agree. The fish was fried too hard which made it thin and crumbly, the peach cobbler tasted good but it was toowatery and had a dumpling texture. I fell in love with the Fin and Beak sauce, so I bought a bottle. The prices are reasonablebut the portions could be bigger. If I'm in the area again, I might return but I'll have to add my own seasoning. Read more
Didn't think I would find soul food in north liberty. Suga peach is delicious. It's not health food but southern fried goodness.... Clean place with relaxing atmosphere. Never had better Mac and cheese. Read more
