We have eaten here twice within a week, it is that good! My family loved it! REDS Alehouse has the best burger, we have had... since being in Iowa! We went once for lunch and back again today to sample the brunch menu. The Flatbreads are delicious. Thepick two combos gave us a chance to try more of the menu. But the burgers are cooked to order and they know how to cook to yourrequest. We have had excellent service during both of our visits. We will be back as the menu offers a variety of selections tokeep the whole family happy. Read more
I live in Iowa City and stop by here every couple months. Beer selection is awesome; food however is marginal. Last week, I got... the half sandwich/soup and it was OK-not stupendous, but fairly solid. Today I got the special per menu-listed as grilled salmonsandwich. It was OK at best. A grilled salmon patty would have been ideal, as the menu suggested. Today, however the sandwichwas cut up grilled salmon (think tuna or chicken salad, but tuna pricing}, and the "caramelized onions", as on the menu werelike the texture of slightly warmed over earthworms, dug fresh out of the yard, warmed just enough to keep them squirming inyour mouth., sliming southward as you swallowed. Understandably busy tonight with the 4th of July. An error was made with our pickup order. They not only rushed fixing this, but... gave us a gift card for the price of the item. I got the Make Your Own Breakfast (French toast, bacon, scrambled eggs). Sierra Mist: Flavor was a bit off, though this may be... because of the city water. French toast: This was AMAZING. I don't know what you guys do but this was ???? *chef'skiss* Scrambled eggs: These were pretty bland. Not much to say. Bacon: I usually don't like bacon, but this was so thick andcrispy that I couldn't NOT love it. Fries: I stole a fry from a friend and I had to steal more, these were seasonedexcellently! Cheese curds: These were different from the traditional cube shaped curds, but they were 10 times better! Bonuspoints? they brought out a patio heater for our table because we were getting kinda cold. Read more
Reds is delicious every time. Nice surprise that we showed up during 2 for 1 drinks! The Blueberry Lemon Mule was so good!
