The dinner plates are made for two meals. I got a pasta dish that was delicious and wife got the sea bass. The sea bass covered... in breadcrumbs was not the highlight. The have lots of specials and food is fresh. We were glad that we found this restaurant toeat during our road trip. Read more

Let me start off by saying this restaurant is beautiful. What I did not like was the fact that I was not greeted, not seated and... was told by a waiter that he will be right back but never came back. Other waiters passed me as well and don?t get me wrong, itwas busy but I was standing at the front for 5 minutes and never was approached especially being new to Connecticut and new tothe restaurant and not to make this a race thing but being the ONLY African American there that night. I honestly wish I couldhave had the time to at least experience the food but thank you no thank you. Do better with the service. Read more

I love this place and go there often. Last night was not a good experience. The steak was ordered rare came well done. When the... waiter finally came by 20 minutes later after waiting 45 minutes for our meal, he said he could put another on. We didnt havethe time to wait another 45 minutes. The chicken was dry. We had an hr drive home. They didnt offer to comp the meal or evendiscount. Especially for a 40 steak. Very disappointed especially when we drive an hour to go there. Read more

Lots of Food.....and It's All Good Food This was our first visit and we were very impressed! The pork chop special was so... massive that my wife took 1-1/2 of the 2 giant pork chops home. The accompanying polenta was very tasty with good consistency. You really need to look at the Special Menu online before you go to the restaurant. Our very good waitress, Sarah, spent a longtime listing all the specials from memory. Because there are probably two dozen of them, it's impossible to remember them allwhen trying to make a selection. I was waiting for the waitress to list the pane cotto I saw on the online menu, but she didn'tmention it. When I asked about the pane cotto, she said, "Sure, we can make that for you." I had the vitello valdostana (vealscallopini topped with prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, fresh tomatoes and eggplant), which was also excellent. After ourleftovers were packaged, Sarah went through a long list of deserts, and I settled on the cherry amaretto gelato, but I wouldhave been very happy with half a dozen other selections. La Lupa has quickly zoomed to one of the top restaurants on our listof favorites for several good reasons. We will definitely be back! Read more

Updated review: Updated review from 2 to 4. Went back a 2nd time and overall experience was much better. Truffle oil burrata... appetizer was great, but they should have shaved the melon or made it easier to assemble in plate. The veal chop I had was greatbut expensive special at $45, came with two types of potatoes (not sure why). Pancetta pasta was delicious but needed moretexture. Wanted a pizza but unfortunately they said they were short staffed (understandable in current climate) so no one wasworking the brick oven. It's an amazing looking oven so I was disappointed! (All their pizza doughs were left sitting out andno one was using them... ????????. Original review: Everything was under salted and under seasoned. I had seafood risotto ($35)watch out for their specials they're way higher $ wise then their menu. Veal chop $45, $28 rigatoni pancetta, $35 for a seafoodrisotto that's just clams, shrimp and mussels is a little outrageous . My risotto was very al dente. (Not sure how that happenssince risotto overcooks so fast). My wife ordered the lobster pappardelle and it was also super Al dente, and had very littlelobster. We asked the waiter if the pappardelle was supposed to be al dente he said he didn't know and would check, but then henever did. Everything was under seasoned. A table next to us sent back their pasta dishes as well so it wasn't just us. Theseafood was actually the only saving grace it all tasted good. The waiter was super nice so this really isn't a jab at theirservice but the food was just forgettable, and at those prices it shouldn't be. Read more
