I have mixed feelings about how to review this place. First I would like to say I enjoyed the sausage and brisket. The brisket... had a nice taste with decent bark. The sausage was juicy and tasty. The Mac and cheese was amazing. My only fuss is I thoughtthe amount of brisket I received was very disappointing. I wouldn't mind paying $15.50 for my plate if the meat portions werenot so small. Almost $3 for a glass of tea is also excessive. I would rate you 3 stars but your meat was good and I don't wantto knock someone just because of portion size and the beverage costs. Let me start off by saying that this was thee worst, poor customer service, and meal I have EVER received from this so-called... Old School "BBQ joint". If I could give this place a 0-star rating...I would!! I ordered $40 worth of bbq and received $0 worthof nothing! We ordered two of the 2-meat combo with double sides, a side salad and extra green beans. The chicken wasundercooked, the beef brisket was tough, over done, burnt and dried out, the corn fritters were overly deep fried, the Mac &cheese was gummie and the baked beans and texas toasted was scorched and charred as well. The pics absolutely does NOT do thetaste of this piece of trash justice. Then when I called to speak to the manager, which I ended up speaking to the "owner intraining" and I informed him of the situation and tht I had frequently been there before and had never had this poor of serviceor quality of food. Instead of him apologizing for the food and service, he blames it on me and states tht the food "may havebeen dry b/c of of it sitting, waiting for me to pick it up". I then politely informed him tht I literally live less than 5minutes from the restaurant and the lady on the phone told me tht it wld take 20 minutes before it was ready. Still hoping toget some type of resolution he then asked me what is it tht I wanted him to do abt it. I informed him tht I wanted a credit ofsome sort and he said, "Yes, sure". And then informed him tht we had eaten part of the meals and he said tht was fine just bringthe food back and I wld get my refund. I asked him wht time they closed and he said 9pm. To top things off I called back to findout if my refund wld be in the form of a credit voucher or the way I paid and he insulted me by saying tht, "it wld only makecommon sense to be refunded for only the uneaten portions of food and tht I wld only get my money back for tht", even after Ihad already told him tht the food was partly eaten and he said tht was ok to still bring it back. I had the "smoked" turkey with Mac n cheese and the blueberry cornbread. I'll save the best for last, so first the smoked... turkey. I should have asked about it before I ordered, so that's my fault. I assumed it would be like a smoked turkey wing orleg. It was not. It looks like a few slices of deli turkey meat. The flavor was ok, but not smoked. I could tell it at least hadsalt on it. Next the mac n cheese was also just ok. I added a little salt to mine. The consistency was a little runny, like aboxed Mac n cheese but at least it was not dry. The blueberry cornbread was good.
