Reviews for Arthur's Steakhouse & Pub in North Brunswick Township, NJ
Typical local steakhouse/pub that offers decent pricing, good food, and simple atmosphere. You can expect a steak to be cooked... right, and a hearty burger here. Leave the steak sauce and extras alone - you won't need them. Entrees are accompanied bypickles and salad, and the desserts are your cheesecakes and brownie sundaes. This place has been around a while and it's sureto stand the test of time and be here for a while yet. Very casual, so not something you really need to dress up for. Justenjoy whatever company you brought and relax while you enjoy your meal. Read more
I am giving a generous two stars because of my true love of the memories that Arthur's has given me dating back to 1995 when a... good friend recommended I stop for a great steak at an excellent price. I will be forwarding this review to him as a remembrance(eulogy) of a great place that no longer offers either. My fiancee and I visited on Monday August 8th and we sat at the bar.Much to my chagrin, there wasn't an employee in sight for almost 10 minutes. Thankfully, there were a few customers in view somy first thoughts of robbery with hostages locked in the storage closet were dispelled. The delay kind of worked out wellbecause it gave us time to become acclimated to the horrible musty odor that permeated the building, either emanating from aroof leak or the 20 year old carpet.( Yes I remember the "new carpet.") Our first thought of splitting was outweighed by my urgefor a steak I once knew. We were greeted by our hostess, bartender, bus person, food runner and possibly manager, Daysy. Yes, itwas a one person show. She was pleasant and did the best she could under circumstances obviously dictated by absenteemanagement. We received our food fairly quickly once Daysy took our order. Simple, straight forward, two 24 once steaks mediumrare, well done home fries, and garlic bread with mozzarella. Well, I 'll start positive and say that the bread was pretty good. The steak arrived well done and the home fries were obviously put under the broiler and burnt. The quality of the meat was closeto what it normally would be (we never expected prime here), it was always about the magic which has obviously been lost. Thequality the value and the ambience have all been destroyed. The steak is hovering on forty bucks and a pint of Yuengling is at7.50 ( Manhattan prices). Far too close to the prime steak house prices, (our favorite in Westfield offers a ribeye with a sidefor forty-eight and Amstels are six). Absent a successful round of CPR or a reincarnation of Houdini t Read more
Somehow a bit of a hidden gem - super juicy and tasty streaks and a pretty simple menu. The place looks to be stuck in the... 80s/early 90s in terms of looks but who cares. Read more
Just went here for the 1st time tonight. Jessica the bartender is awesome! The atmosphere is great. We had beer, cheese fries... and homemade coleslaw. They also gave us complimentary pickles, cherry pepper and delicious salad with a sweet vinegarettedressing. Perfect for a warm day. Next time I'm having a steak. The menu has some great choices and nice sides to pick from. Iam so glad I finally stopped in! Read more
One of the worst steaks I had in my life. I asked for medium and got it well done. No seasoning at all. I don't know if it's... because I came 8:30 and ordered before the kitchen closed, but this was my first and last time. Read more
One of oldest and best place to have steak, burgers add French onion soup. Reasonable price. Highly recommended! ????????
We ordered 2 medium rare 24oz steaks. What we received was (1) 24oz and the other one about a little under 20oz. After 50... minutes I guess they thought we ordered well done?I guess the cook thought this was medium rare. We asked for the manager andshe came out ready to fight. Very defensive and down right rude! We will never be back! I guess it explains why the place wasso empty. Read more
Order a medium done steak, receive a dry charcoal steak, came here because it was recommended to me but dont bother coming here... for steak or the so sea food platter, is nothing but deep fry fish and two shrimps and calamari, we told the waitress about thesituation she supposedly went to speak with the manager but just came back with the bill, i just gave my dog the steak and leftthe sea food on the table. 130$ down the drain.
