Reviews for Westlawn Inn in North Beach, MD
Customer service was superb but the food was not great.
Paid $8 for an ?avocado salad? that was just a handful of iceberg lettuce with 2-3 small pieces of avocado, and ?side of... coleslaw? with pull pork sandwich was just chopped cabbage in a condiment-sized container. Overpriced and low quality. Read more
Good food, Creole Gumbo Jazz Band( very mellow), nice relaxed atmosphere, attentive wait staff...
Got sick off the food both me and my son! Won't be going there for the food EVER again. We drove 1.5 hrs to listen to some jazz... while dinning with my 15 yo who loves jazz. THE BEST PART of evening was the music. The quartet which plays on every secondSaturday was wonderful even though my husband's first words were "holy s**t he's old". Our waitress was absolute perfection andon time with everything. For appetizers we had shrimp and portabela mushroom....both fried and bland tasting. The crab soupwhile delicious to taste, a day later is threatening nausea and vomiting ???? We all ordered the prime rib dinner at $30 a plateand it was just a step above the worse meatloaf you can imagine drenched in a brown glaze that covered up the half of the steakwhich was just huge parts of fat and gristle. The flourless chocolate cake was crumbly and the crem brulee wasbland. DISAPPOINTED!!! if I ever go back it will be for the jazz NOT THE TERRIBLE FOOD! #DISGUSTING Read more
I dined at the Westlawn Inn, in North Beach, MD this week.....it was awesome. From the moment I entered the impressive Arts &... Crafts style Inn, my expectations were high. The dining room, with its atmosphere of casual elegance, plus the friendly andknowledgeable wait staff, added to what would become one of the best all around dining encounters of my life. The menu wasvaried and included many tempting options. I enjoyed Sauteed Shrimp....which was served upon sautéed spinach and quinoa....itwas in line with inventive and artful fine dining (anywhere I have ever been). I highly recommend the Roasted Zucchini and theCoconut Shrimp....simply amazing appetizers. Some patrons were gathered around the bar area and mentioned they come here often. They noted they are always delighted with the food and service. I was informed that the bandstand, next to the main diningroom.....features live Jazz, R & B and soft rock on the weekends. I intend to return soon, listen to some good music, and enjoyfantastic food at The Westlawn Inn...it is a gem. Read more

Sorry for the long comments. My wife and I went here yesterday for the first time. So my critics are because of my personal... biases. 1. You have three different seating areas. Outside on the deck for casual dining. Inside you have a bar area and a finedining area. They area separated enough so that one area doesn't interfere with the other areas, which is very nice. We sat inthe fine dining area. 2. The flavors of there food was amazing, extremely delicious. For the food, I have my own biases on howit was prepped but that didn't take away from the taste or experience. I started with the tempora mushrooms. I prefer pankobreaded versus batter dipped. The dipping source, pepper and parm, was a great combination. Next I had the cream of crab. Iprefer it to be slightly thicker, but the oil and Tabasco they drizzle over top instead of old bay was delicious. I willcertainly remember that when I make cream of crab. Last I had the sirloin steak. It was a thinker cut than expected, they cookedto the way I wanted. Im not used to gravy on my steak, so next time I'll ask for it on the side. 3. The wait staff was amazing, very knowledgeable about the food and how it was prepared (I didnt ask about the steak). They also didn't rush us. It's nice tosit at a restaurant and move at your own pace. We will definitely be going back to try out the different foods and seatingareas. Read more
I remember when they first opened. I was happy to have a new establishment in my community. I never experienced racism in my... own town. My husband and I when there and we was told, they didn't have any tables. The place looked very empty and I neverwhen back!! We decided to go to Bob's Crabshell! Read more
