Additional Information
Ostrich steak was amazing. Everything else at the table was awful. I ordered the grilled scallops and a guy handed me a plate of... raw, iced ousters. I asked him if there was a mistake and he said no, they were cooked. Finally got the waiter and he confirmedthat they were indeed raw (some people can’t eat raw die to weakened immune systems.) Once I finally got the right oystersthey were awful. Served in a huge bed of…crushed salt. Who on earth thought that one up? Every time I accidentally droppedsome of my oyster back onto the plate it became unpalatable because of the salt. ???? The guy who got Salmon at the table saidit was decent, but not worth the price. One table member got the cauliflower steak and it was a joke. Just a huge chunk ofcauliflower that might as well have been microwaved sitting grossly on a bed of spinach that was absolutely swimming in cheaptasting BBQ sauce. Drinks were okay. Ordered a martini with olive and got something watered down in ice. Martini’s do nottraditionally come on the rocks. At those prices, I shouldn’t be having such a chaotic experience. It was so turbulent that inmy giddy despair it became hilarious. That Ostrich steak my friend ordered was really good though. The only thing worth it’s“fancy” price. And to be fair, they did let us return the cauliflower and Martini at no charge. I ate my oysters, but withchagrin. Maybe y'all should change your focus. The bar upstairs that is manned my the same restaurant is somehow great. Nothingamazing food-wise, but not bad either, and the drinks are good. Same bar staff. I guess it depends on the drink. I willcontinue to go upstairs, but not here. Not unless I want Ostrich, apparently. Read more
We were recommended this place by our friends and I have to say the food was probably one of the best we’ve ever had. We had... the ostrich with black garlic mashed potatoes as well as the collard greens and it was delicious. Before that we ordered oystersand scallops- absolutely perfection! The wine is a little overpriced for what it is but it was very good. If you can pay theprice, I would totally recommend it. The portion are not too big but not too small. Our server Robert was very attentive andvery kind. We had a wonderful time and will be back soon! Read more
Service was great but the food was Fantastic. Wings, Beef Short Ribs and the Grilled Salmon and Grits. Excellent.
Salt+Marrow invited me to dinner to check out some new menu items. Holy smokes, were they good! We started out with their... Kentuckyaki wings; they were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. For the main course, I got the kangaroo (yes, I do mean actualkangaroo) over grits. How can you pass that up? Next was the wood-fired blackened swordfish over crab rice and chimchurri. Wegot to meet the amazing staff including the executive chef, Tia. After talking about the menu with Chef, she told me we had totry the ostrich... so of course I did. The ostrich surprised me so much! It tasted just like steak but better. I can't thank thestaff enough! Id like to give a huge thanks to Brent, the director of food and beverage, for setting all of this up. If you havenever been to Salt+Marrow, I highly recommend you go check out their new menu items. I loved the entire experience of Salt + Marrow Kitchen Dining Domes. The ambiance was lovely, the waitress was extremely... attentive and the food was great and service was fast. I am happy to see something different in the area as it pertains to howwe dine even during colder temperatures. To top off the dining experience, each dining dome is heated which made it feel socomfy, cozy, and intimate. I recommend that everyone give it a try, as each dining dome can hold up to six guests. My husbandand I enjoyed a date night, but I can see girls night, guys night, family night as well! ONE SUGGESTION S + M: Add some music tothe dining domes or outside for patrons to hear. We played soft jazz on our cell phones as an alternative. LOVE THIS PLACE ?? Read more
