2020: crab cakes with wasabi sauce are excellent. Duck breast has wonderful sauce and sides. Another great dinner. 2019:... repeat visit just as good. The only thing not as good this time was desert - upside down pineapple cheesecake. The cheesecakeitself was grainy and a bit too salty. 2018:Excellent - both the food and service was outstanding. We started with lovelycrusty sour dough bread. The crab cake appetizer was about the tastiest crab cake I ever had, and I had quite a few of them. My dinner companion loved the potato and leek soup cleaning the soup plate with bread to get every last bit of it. My duck auvin was excellent, and do was the trout. For desert I had lovely apple strudel, the hazelnut chocolate desert I hear was good. We both liked our deserts so much that we did not share... A very good experience, we will be back. Read more

We found this place while leaving a job and heading home to NJ, glad we did. The place hides in the back but well worth it. The... atmosphere was nice, our waiter was fantastic between his knowledgeable of the menu and enjoying our fry sarcastic humor, hewas a gem. The food was delicious, from the french onion soups, filets, schnitzel and dessert, delicious. We will be back. Thankyou for taking us in even though we were in our work clothes . Read more

Delicious. Do yourself a favor and get the scallops. It's an upscale restaurant with prices to match, but for a reason: much of... the food is locally sourced. The crab cake appetizer was full of flavor, and the scallops were served with unique pairings ofsauteed and crispy vegetables that worked perfectly together. The filet mignon was traditional, with mashed potato, green beansand carrot, and was cooked to perfection. Romantic atmosphere, and very accommodating staff. My only qualm was with the desert, which was a very dry cake. I have heard many good things about the pastry chef, so this may have been a one-off slice, orperhaps a fancy dry style cake that I've never experienced, but either way, I recommend you stick with a desert with a littlemore moisture.???? Drink selection was impressive, and I found a perfect pairing with each dish! Enjoy! Read more

Warm, friendly and upscale dining. I went there for a reception with about 80 people and despite serving that many people at... once the salads and dinners were served quite promptly and the wait staff was very friendly and pleasant and were very attentiveto our requests. The salad, dinner and dessert were excellent and the next time I visit MASS MoCA I will definitely dine thereagain. Read more

Made reservations for a large party for Easter Brunch. I don't think they had the right staff for the number of reservations... they took. Our party and several others were left at check in for LONG stretches of time with no information and no staff. Thehost was also the bartender it seems. I was probably a little uncharacteristically short with him when he finally appeared andrather than an apology he was MORE testy back and said something about it being hard when other tables don't leave (he had toldus when we checked in a half hour earlier that even though we were a little early, the table was ready and he would get it readyand seat us early ... we weren't seated for another half hour, 10 minutes AFTER our reservation and never spoken to in theinterim.). There were several large tables and it was pretty clear from then on that they weren't too thrilled to have us there-- which was odd because, again, we had made a reservation and they could have easily told us to go somewhere else. The food wasa mixed bag -- the pancakes with blueberries that my kids and husband had that were more like a muffin were apparently awesome. But the scrambled eggs were runny (my husband asked for his 'dry' and so his weren't) -- I know some people like them this way-- I don't. Do if you like scrambled eggs cooked, make sure to specify. Perhaps the biggest disappointment was the hashbrowns. They were literally small potatoes cut up and pan seared and I would be hard pressed to say there was any seasoning at all. However, my sister's nicoise salad and my nephew's steak frites were also terrific. I had the Bloody Mary, virgin, and it wasreally well seasoned. And my side salad (even though it came out with everything else) was really good. In the "you can't makethis up" category, right after we sat down there was an AWFUL smell in the restaurant. I don't know if one of the many smallchildren had an unfortunate diaper blow out but the ventilation in the restaurant was not good and i Read more

We enjoyed a superb dinner on Friday evening, June 30, 2017. After reviewing the menu for vegan options, my husband and I... asked the waitress if the Chef could prepare a dish with just risotto/pasta and seasonal, local vegetables. Thehostess/waitress was very responsive - assured us they could honor our request and checked with the chef to confirm. Thepresentation and results exceeded our expectations -- the plate had a selection of fresh, grilled, seasonal vegetablessurrounding the risotto. It was delicious and reasonably priced (no extra charge). Thank you, again, to Chef Alexander Smith. This was not our first time at GB -- we have always had a satisfying dinner experience here; however, it was the first time werequested a vegan dish beyond the pasta/risotto menu offerings. I highly recommend GB and its gracious staff! (The cocktails, too, were excellent.) Read more

This is the most elegant restaurant in North Adams, although it is still fine for children who appreciate fine food. Everything... we ate here was excellent: filet mignon, schnitzel, tuna and ravioli were all exemplary. The room is quiet and the service isprofessional. We found the experience relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable. Finally it should be noted that we ate a good two weeksafter the summer season ended. It may be a good deal more hectic during the high season. Read more

Brunch options included a breakfast tart that was a hit with our friends, a flavorful frittata, and unusual "pancakes" roughly... the size and shape of a small egg. We also had lunch here about a year and were similarly pleased. Read more
