Reviews for Volare in Norman, OK
Volare has a lot of potential, it really does. The atmosphere was great on a weekday night, everyone on staff was very friendly... and the menu looked good with some "gluten friendly" and vegetarian options as well. I could see this being a great place for anintimate date on a weeknight or a fun experience on a game day, but, unfortunately, I found the food and drinks reallyunderwhelming. ??We started with a drink and the Crack Fries, without parmesan to keep them vegan. The fries were good, exceptthey were very thinly sliced and about halfway down the basket, we were just left with hard pieces and crumbs. I had a mojitoand it was refreshing, but it felt like it was non-alcoholic. I had another cocktail and it was the same way, very, very light.??On to the pizza. I ordered the vegan arugula pizza because, well, it was the only vegan option. Based on the description, itcould have been great. When the pizza came out, it looked like a pizza crust with a ton of arugula thrown on top and a randomshake or two of nutritional yeast. When you picked up a slice, the toppings just slid off the pizza. I struggled to take a bite,as everything fell off the slice. There wasn't much sauce, there was no cheese and the few toppings that were hidden under thearugula were sparse. We're talking like one strip of eggplant, a couple of small mushrooms and yeah. Vegan doesn't have to beboring and I just didn't quite know what they tried to do with this pizza. The dough was good, but it was put together verypoorly. ??I do want to reiterate, the atmosphere here was great. Our waitress was very friendly. I just can't see myself comingback since they only have one vegan pizza option that was very underwhelming and the alcoholic drinks were far too light for myliking. Read more
I?m going to give this place 3 stars based on the food alone. I wish I could give it 5 because the food is fantastic but let me... tell you why they get 3? I?ve gone in 2 different Friday evenings and was told both times it?s about a 2 hour wait. Okay, noproblem, there?s plenty of stuff around to keep us busy. We went this past Friday night and decided to again wait the 2 hours.About an hour and a half later we went in and just curiously asked if they had an idea of how much longer, we were told oh afterwe get the next table clean we should be able to seat you. Great. Go next door to listen to music and enjoy a drink. Go back inabout 30 minutes later, several empty tables but also two spots at the bar. We ended up setting at the bar because we stillhadn?t got a call. By the time we finished eating it had been 3 hours since we checked in, no phone call that we are going to beseated but all of these empty tables?. It is incredibly frustrating to love a restaurant but the service be so bad. Read more
Our server Anna was awesome. There's no pandemic pace here, even on a Saturday night. We got 3 pizzas and apps in 20 minutes. ... The food was delicious and drinks were on point. 10/10 recommend! Read more
We went to Volare because of good reviews. The service by our waitress was fast and our pizza was even faster. The place was... interesting in decor, a little to loud for me though. My only real complaint was the bar. I was seriously worried we wouldn'tget our beers in time for the food. I could see no reason for the delay, they seemed to be standing around BSing. Read more
Ordered a Gates of Eden with chicken to go, upon getting home I opened the box to see what appears to be a piece of chicken with... a bite taken out of it. Called Volare to tell them, I was told by the young lady that answered the phone that they shred theirchicken at Volare and since she could not actually see it there was nothing she could do unless I wanted to bring it back to therestaurant. I brought it back to the restaurant and asked her " if it were you what would you think about this piece ofchicken?" She proceeded to take her phone out and while taking a picture of the chicken she told me again that it looks like ashredded piece of chicken to her. I was taken aback at her response that she didn't know the difference between sliced chickenand shredded chicken. She asked with attitude if I wanted the salad replaced and I polite said yes that would be good. When thereplacement salad was ready she walked over and handed it to me, I thank her for her time as she turned around withoutacknowledgment and walked away. The pure arrogance and holier-than-thou attitude of this young lady was so apparent that it'shard to believe that Volare management would allow her to answer the phone and greet incoming customers. Sad part about all ofthis is that I absolutely LOVE their Bee Sting pizza (I add Calabrian chilies and Prosciutto), it's is fantastic but herattitude is a deterrent to actually going to the restaurant...how sad is that, customer service just ain't what it use to be. Great aesthetics. Special day deals made it even better! More adult decor and not necessarily a family restaurant. But have... thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor patio when the weather's nice up on the 5th floor. The food was delicious and unique in thisgenre. Service was amazing and super helpful! This is a great local restaurant and amazing staff! Read more

We tried this for my birthday dinner. The place smells so good and has a cute atmosphere. Appetizers were pretty good but then... we got our pizza...one was burnt on the bottom and the other tasted like raw flour. The waitress was very slow and didn't checkon us often enough. The only thing I'd come back for are cheap drinks and appetizer. Read more
